Wow.. I can't belive this happened.

I remember nearly 17 years ago sitting in elementary school watching the Challenger, and now 17 years and 3 days later the Columbia goes down on landing. :(

To be honest I'm speechless...

I'm still pretty sad about this whole thing..

I went to space-camp when I was younger and alwasy dreamed of being an astronaut (since I was 3 y/o). I even got flight traning, but the realized the only way to do it was through the military - which wasn't something I wanted to do with my life..

However, if I -ever- had the option to go on a mission I would.... Space flight is my greatest dream..

I wansn't around for Appolo 1, but I do clearly remember the challenger.. We were watching it take of in class, and then the thing blew up.. Being young kids we had no idea, then the teacher said "there's been a big problem, the shuttle has blown up" - and it was weird, like 30 kids all started crying at once....

I guess you have to expect this to happen more often, for us to go 17 years with no deaths is amazing. Thing about the technical feats that are pulled off by sending this type of vehicle into space.... I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

Prayers are with the families.. And I -hope- to god that we get back up there quickly (not like 2 or 3 years after challenger).. I hope our next mission is Mars.. I want to see that in my lifetime.

I felt the tragedy as well. I went through a couple of emotions. I'm really into space exploration myself, and admire anyone that exits our atmosphere. I really wish the best to the families.
:(
I let Tiesto guide me through the emotions, and Sunrise 3 really pinched me deep. I recommend it to everyone.

PLUR to all.

it was the first thing that came to my attention when I woke up on Saturday. I was up like a lightning bolt.

it's sad, but let us hope that this does not stop us in our conquest for the stars.

I hope to see a landed Mars mission before I die..... I give myself 50 years until then - so please NASA, please!!!
