Well, that's nothing compared to what I read in a Swedish science magazine...
They had created a computer/machine which played all the music by itself...
Perfect beatmatching etc etc, all those "simple" aspects a real DJ could do...BUT it also measured the intesity of the shaking of the dancefloor, registered the crowds shouting, whisteling, etc, and accordingly to that "read the crowd" and played the most appropriate music for the moment...
I know there were a lot of other things it did, but I can't remember them right now. This machine will be the nightmare of future DJ's, although we probably won't live to see it since the price tag on that highly developed "thing" was...um, somewhat high... |
i hate like this... whats the point man
we may as well stick a jukebox up there...
bah! |

| also im very conservative when people say future of djing and all that because really all these crazy new inventions and they all seem to be "replacements" for the actual dj you know beatmatching for you... doing this for you automatically doing this and that i mean its cool to an 'extent' but id rather manufacturers concentrated on quality components rather than trying to improvise a machine to do the job.... |

the only way i could see this possible is if the dvd player could play songs off the same dvd for both decks. The one thing that turns me off about cdjs is what if i wanted to mix song 2 into song 1 and they were on the same cd. Youd have to make multiple copies of the same cd and thats a headache. |
no i beleive there are CDdjs that can read 2 tracks at the same time, i think i came across one on 123dj.com but i could be wrong. |

One example would be this one from Denon:

what's the point? unless you want to mix two tracks on the same CD, in which case you need two pitch sliders, and 2 separate line outs. |

Just the two line outs and a button to switch which track is being pitch adjusted, how often do you adjust the pitch of the record that is playing compared to the one cueing? The denon has two line outs. |
