so i can either go to see pvd in boston on the 20th or nyc on the 21st. issues: class at 9 or 10am on friday (21st) morning, traffic into nyc on a friday afternoon, place to stay in nyc, etc.
but the biggest question is.. how long would pvds set at avalon in boston be? im assuming a few hours shorter than at roxy, just based on the general closing times of the clubs. anyone go to both shows the last time he was out here? whats the verdict.

Avalon closes at 2am.
so his set would be at MOST from 10pm-2am.. more likely is 11pm-2am or so..
I do not like either location, but if you are in for as much PvD as possible, I recommend NYC. |

| I would go NYC as well. I haven't been to Avalon but Roxy isn't bad. There will be a LOT of TAs at NYC, also. I'm guessing the b2b crowd would be more help than me. I am supposed to go to both, but if it came down to choosing one I would definitely do Roxy. But i am biased, since I live here :D |

ok
Avalon:
I love the Club
Excellent Lights
Great Sound
Great Crowd
Short Set
19+
Roxy:
I love the Club too
Good Lights
Excellent Sound
Great Crowd (TA wise)
Extended Set
18+
Overall, I'd rather attend the NY gig if I were you since the vibe will better and the set will be longer.

| quality, not quanity...true the set @ avalon will be shorter than the set @ roxy but let me just say the sets @ avalon blow away any sets he will do @ roxy...no regressive just bangs from start to finish....avalons lazers are A-M-A-S-I-NG and you dont get the same feeling of being in a rollerskating rink with speakers (ie roxy)...also pvd spins right infront of you and you can shake his hand and see him go through his records...i am going to both but if i had to chose: avalon over roxy |

| Well, I've already seen him three times at Avalon, and haven't seen him at Roxy yet, so I would choose Roxy (I'm going to both) But reguarless I would choose the Roxy, because of the longer set, and I like the venue better - But the visuals at The Roxy can't compare to Avalon's :D |

I think that Avalon is on the smaller side...IMO not as Big as Roxy |

| Id have to agree with DaHippieman on this one - Avalon reigns supreme for PVD gigs. Better sound, more intimate setting, waaay better lazers/lights and no annoying Roxy siren. Plus PVD plays a typical 2.5/3 hr set (minus the *experimental* stuff thrown in during the 6 hr sets @ Roxy.) Both would be fun, but IMO Avalon is 100x better... |

| Yea I have to agree as well - Even though Roxy has the Phazon Sound System - I still think that the sound is better at Avalon - A lot more crisp and clear IMO :D |
