| Is Trance growing or beginning 2 die?, I live in Southern England (Bournemouth) and the nite life is pretty big down here, but i've noticed alot of places which have played trance in the past no longer do, and play like R'n'B or Hip Hop (how i h8 that music, sorry if u like it, but i really! h8 it)or cheesey Dance music :(. In fact one of the big nightclubs (the opera house) only has a Trance nite once a week on friday's, (Slinky)instead of it playing every nite. I wonder if the Trance scene down here is the case 4 any of u? |

| Let's just hope trance as a sound will start to evolve. The reason why people say it's dying is simply because it has become a formulaic genre that isn't forward thinking anymore. It isn't evolving. And until something dramatic happens to the trance sound, tracks like Ligaya will not be enough to push trance forward. We can't just keep talking about '99.. |

| In terms of sales, 2002 was the biggest year ever for trance. You figure it out. |

The reason that rnb-clubs are growing like some ugly infection is because it's so popular. But that doesn't mean trance is dying. Coz amongst those rnb-ers (some-god save their soul :p ) there are those who listen to trance aswell.
So it's not because the clubs want to cash in the big money that trance died or is dying
Looking at growing popularity of hardstyle and the more and more appreciated progressive stuff (being it uk-flavored or lightning records style) I can fairly say that trance is far from dying. |

I've been into trance since the beginning and i have to say i'm loving some of the tunes at the moment more than other years.
There is a definitive split now between commercial trance and proper trance which didn't exist in the past. In my eyes, thats better!!

| As long people are caring about the death of trance, this means trance's still alive... :D |

Trance is still becoming more popular, that's because of the good work of the big guy's armin ,tiesto, ferry. But trance needs some new impulses. There are lots of good dj's but only a small amount of really good producers. The best tracks always come from the same people.
Trance needs more producers otherwise the genre will become less popular. |
