| Hey guys, drums and percs isn't really my forte. I need someone to suggest a program or module, preferably not hardware, that will give me classic, pristine hi hats, cymbals etc. How is Battery? What about Plugsound? Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

Battery itsself is just a vsti sample player with a few synthesis bits like adsr. Theres not filters but you can have multiple outs - 4 stereo and about 12 mono i think.
I personally use it all the time and i think the sound qulaity is very good. Its VERY easy to use and ther is no substitute compared to a sample.
The fact that you can just load new sample sup at a touch of a button is great.
As for sounds there are 2 easy ways.
Sample cd's and sampling vinyl/cd's.
I havent seem a drum synthesis yet that can give the wide range of sounds needed comapred to me sampling some records and layering 2/3 together with a little compression and a nice pure 909 to added lows if needed. |

| Thanks for the advice. Does anyone suggest any drum/percs sample cds in particular (for Trance)? Which ones offer the most quality? |

Havent got it here in front of me but you know the green button on the top right. Press it and a list appears.
Select output and the output of the diff pads it put to the top of the pads.
Left click over the number and while stil holding the button move the mouth up or down. It should change to the diff out out available e.g. 1/2, 3/4 5,6,7,8 etc
You can use the options box to allow more or less outputs.
Hope that works for you. |
