I don't think any of us should be getting upset at either PVD/PVD's crew or TR for that matter. No one confirmed anything here, not PVD's site nor TR. If people want to get presumptuous that's their choice, but no point getting hostile at the DJ or the promoter if there hasn't been any official word out. If i was the promoter I would ask the DJ's site to remove the city from the list so that it wouldn't give people the wrong impression. Besides i'm sure it was PVD's site who put TO down on 04/20 cuz they were under negotiation with TR. In the end it's no one's fault.
And for a DJ to fly from one city to another that's far away isn't all that a huge deal. A flight from Orlando to TO is only about 4 hours anyways and we've had DJ's who have flown from Europe to TO to play at the Guv then back to Europe the next day. So i'm sure travelling like that is nothing new for PVD .. besides atleast he'll still be travelling within the continent ! |

OH ... I had a bad feeling about this "TBC" right from the start, I told you guys to chill on it also. It's been a long time since I've seen PvD. From what I remembered a few years ago, PvD wasn't booked for any gigs for the longest time in Toronto. PvD@Industries and PvD@Warehouse was about 2 yrs apart.
I suggest no more posting on this thread until the promoters confirms PvD spinning@Viva. |

DAMMN RIGHT !!! BADBOYBILL had gigs all over the world when he was over booked. From the US 2 CDN 2 UK 2 CDN 2 UK 2 HK and etc etc etc doesn't matter where he was yesterday ... it's all about when he shows up at your city. |

One more thing I would like to say ...
Of course I want to see PvD, but it's the fact that all the TOP parties in TO are now corp. parties !!! Back a few yrs ago, we saw all the headliners we wanted to see without seeing a HUGE freakin' Smirnoff or GoldClubb LOGO flashing in our face all night along.
I wish TR the best of luck for getting PvD without a corp. support !!!
"SUPPORT THOSE WHO SUPPORT YOU !" |

Man why would PVD play in Calgary and not here. Hmmmm. I can say that since I am from Alberta right RJ.
Well I am still hoping and crossing my fingers. Maybe they just took it off his site to avoid everything that we are doing right now (speculation) until it is confirmed for sure. |
I was from calgary, and i can say why is PVD playing in Calgary hehe the clubs there are not that wonderful.
heheh Desidel so Calgary gets him and Toronto doesn't hehe Trance Capital of Canada you say. hehe
Just joking,
I hope he comes here. |

hehe .. i never said it was the trance capital of Canada. I just find it amusing sometimes tho when non-Torontonians in Canada find the need to have to 'impress' Torontonians. It often reminds me of times when Canada was always trying to impress the Americans (ie. Donovan Bailey vs. Mike Johnson, etc.) so they'd actually recognize us. In a way everyone has a sort of inferiority complex.. |

Ok, now I'm normally quite content to lurk, but I have to respond to this because I'm likely the oldest and most recent transplant ex-Calgary, so I've definitely got the insight here....
The reason PVD is playing in Calgary is because the main promoter in Calgary is excellent and has an excellent relationship with Benson & Hedges (and hence good financial backing). I make no claims about how the clubs in Calgary are awesome or more deserving, but I can say that the scene there, while significantly smaller, is no less intense or passionate about this music than their GTA counterparts.
As a point of fact, Calgary has brought in ALL of the top 10 dj's from the last 2 years rankings and over half of the top 100. :toocool: The promoters don't overdo themselves by trying to book an unprofitable night (so mostly Sunday and Wednesday shows), and aside from the Digweed show (which was rescheduled due to Digweed's ear infection), there has never been a show cancelled.
So instead of whining and complaining, give the local promoters a chance to do their thing before slagging everyone and their dog about how pissed off you are or unprofessional anyone is.
Just have some faith, bringing a DJ into a venue is a negotiation not an instant purchase and they still have time to hammer out a deal. ;)
Sorry about the long rant... :eyespop: |
