I picked up this disc recently. It's an old release but a definite goodie. What do you think?
You never hear much about this guy...does he produce anything noteworthy? |

| He was supposed to be Oakenfold's Protege but he never lived up to the hype. Max Graham is probably the best person who mixed a Tranceport (AKA Transport) CD next to Oakenfold. |

| I saw Dave Ralph alongside Oakie at Connected in Toronto a few years back....I thought he played way better trax than oakie at the time. Oakie only belted out the Toronto hard , but Dave Ralph pumped the uplifting claxxix...he's a good dj in my books. Haven't heard much of him lately tho :( |

The arrivals disk got the most attention form the trance community cuz of the big trancers, but I think the Departures disk was much better. Any mix that starts with Rabbitweed and also contains Belfunk, and many other progressive classics, is just head and shoulders above the rest IMO.
On a different note, I saw Dave Ralph come on right before Oaky this summer. I must say, I liked what he was playing, but the crowd wasn't really into it. Everyone was kinda standing around, toking for Oakenfold. On top of that his set ran 40 minutes longer than scheduled (no complaints tho). So anyways, he's done and the crowd is kinda lethargic. Then Oaky comes on and the place explodes! I must admit tho, his set was very good and I had a great time listening to Oaky Drop System F - Punk and Joker Jam - Innocence (PvD's TPOD Mix). That was one of the better events I've been to. Respect to Oakenfold. Great memories of the Summer of 2002... |

| Dave Ralph....awesome fukn set!! Sooo smooth and flawless. His set was much darker than any of his mix albums. Deep house, not trance at all. I'm not suprised at this cause I've heard about his live sets and I'm not complaining. I love good house and his set was great!! |

It's actually "Ferry Corsten - Punk" (First track Ferry ever released under his own name) and there is no TPOD Mix of Innocence. There's a PvD mix of Innocence, and there's a TPOD mix of "Second Sun - Empire". Just some helpful info for ya. |

I thought it was "Funk Einsatz" - Punk...which included a ferry corsten mix...Funk Einsatz being another of Corsten's numerous aliases..correct me if I"m wrong:D |

Completely agree with you there. I picked up this CD over the weekend and I think that the Departures CD is better. I don't have any problems with Arrivals though. (Smith & Selway - Move! :tongue2 among others)
So far I have Tranceport 1,2 and 4 and they're all freakin awesome. I'll keep my eyes out for 3, 5 and 6 then. |

| Yeah, I was listening to this album the other day... Lots of styles including prog and trance and breaks. One of my first mix albums I've ever bought and still timeless and innovative. The mixing is good too, shame you don't really hear much about Dave Ralph nowadays. |
