We all know there are some dumb laws out there...
This site is full of them, it's hilarious! lol

Here are a couple of exemple from Québec:

quote:
It is considered an offense to have more than two colors of paint on your house. (Beaconsfield )

quote:
Margarine producers can't make their margarine yellow

quote:
The Queen Elizabeth Hotel must feed your horse freely when you rent a room.

quote:
You may not park a car in such a way that it is blocking your own driveway

*so block your neibourgs!

quote:
The Queen Elizabeth Hotel must feed your horse freely when you rent a room.

*Oviously from 1950, but still...:tongue2

And finally a law that definitly makes canadian travelers mad :
quote:
It is illegal to turn right on a red light at any time.

:D
Psy-Trancer
LOL...the best thing in quebec..The Drinking Age In Quebec is just a suggestion..lol:crazy: :tongue2 :toocool:
detective you
turning right on red lights would be crazy here....i personaly think that Montreal drivers drive fu***** bad!! (besides me)

no seriously it would be great...
ahlamalek
right turn on red IS dumb... i hope they don't put that law forward.
Czaoth
lol Ahlamalek, not turning right on a red light is my pet-peave when i go to Quebec. Why do you think that it would be a bad idea to be able to do so?
ahlamalek
well... Montreal is a city where's lots of people who walks in the streets and at all hours of the day. Jaywalkers, cyclists and pedestrians (because of narrow old streets) are what makes downtown montreal different from downtown toronto. Turning on red is hazardeous for them. Also, on long term, (i know it sounds stupid) people would get affraid of walking on those same streets because drivers turning on reds, transforming slowly this city like other bland cities like Toronto.

Resume: Red light, stop, take a breathe, watch the scenery and beautiful women ;)

Well u guys obviously don't drive cars. First of all it really sucks waiting at a light when you should be able to go. And b) why the fug are all you montrealers j - walking yet not watching (ie if you're afraid of getting hit by cars), I mean I j-walk all the time, I just give right of way to large pieces of metal when they are in the right
fastmp3
no i think the pedestrians should have more rights than metal stuff
alec
Try telling that to the car. It won't always stop for u, and trust me unless you're a moose its gonna hurt.
