but enough to get a good buzz goin and a smile on my face :)
that calms my nerves down
alcohol helps too
but remember, not too much |
I love smoking up while spinning. It kicks ass passing the bong around while still throwin' down. I try to stay away from alcohol for the most part, it may be a quick solution but it's never worth it afterwards. First time I played in front of people was a new years party in 2000 and I was ed up on DXM (big mistake) and ended up not even spinning at all. I was too tripped out and messed up to even know what I was doing. It was pretty embarassing.....first times don't get much worse than that. |

Dxm? What is that?
It was a fun party, i was still really nervous after the party, so i ran off after my set and slammed a mickey, before ppl could talk to me.
I didnt want to here negative comments, so i thought liquer would lighten my mood. Which it did. The wierd thing was, when i went back in, Lots of people wanted to talk to me and stuff, and i only heard one negative comment about my music. It suddenly dawned on me that, trance is a mature genre of music, that only certain people can truly love and call their own. |

DXM is dextromethorphan. It is a legal cough suppressant found in many over-the-counter cough syrups. In high doses it acts as a "dissociative anaesthetic" like ketamine or PCP. A high dose will cause you to feel very spacey and "out of it," and you may lose motor control (your legs may feel wobbly, for example, or at very high doses you won't be able to move much at all). It can also produce audio and visual hallucinations, and can sometimes cause nausea and itchy skin.
Some people use DXM recreationally. When they do, they nearly always do it at home, in bed or on their couch. DXM is definitely not a dance drug, and getting scammed with a DXM tablet when you are expecting ecstasy is no fun at all. It can also be quite dangerous. |

| Interesting, how much is a large dose? |

| Probably anything over 500mg is too much for a newbie. Contrary to what someone else said, on low doses electronic music is really 'dancy' and you can get into it. There is a fine line though....you take too much and the music euphoria is gone. |

it's all about taking mushrooms then just as you hit your peak the promoter comes and tells you your spot has just been bumped up about 5 hours
then playing while all ed up on mushrooms watching the trippy hard house record labels spinning :)
(some of mine have like spirals on them and stuff) |

monitors are a must!
a jbl eon facing the DJ really helps.
sometimes you gotta go ghetto though... like the last houseparty we did... we took sound surround speakers, hooked them up to an extra 5.1 amp, and made a decent monitor setup.... then the bigger stuff and subs on the main channels with bigger amps.
housepartys rock if they are done right... or can be really annoying.
if your gonna play a houseparty, i'd get there early before the show and make sure things are taken care of so you can spin a decent set |
