Madison Avenue - Don't call me up (DRONEZ OLD SCHOOL REMIX)
Iio - Rapture (ARMIN VAN BUUREN REMIX)
Tomcraft - Loneliness
GTS - Mistral
Ghostland - Guide me god (PAUL VAN DYK REMIX)
Solid Sleep - Club attack (PAUL VAN DYK REMIX)
Second Sun - Empire (PAUL VAN DYK REMIX)
The Venture - Alaska
Star party - I'm in love (EN MOTION REMIX)
Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia (EN MOTION REMIX)
Kid Vicious - Proceed (KID VICIOUS REMAKE)
Ayu - M (ABOVE & BEYOND TYPHOON DUB MIX)
Nu Nrg - Dreamland
The BPM starts with 135 BPM, and it ends with 146 BPM.
This is going to be my first demo cd, and I need all the negative comments I need. I know I put way too many uplifting songs after another, and this is bad (I have been told). How is this bad? Please explain....
Steve

Personally,,, I'd change this part. Being a promoter,,, I think you should have at most,,, 2 tracks by the same artist on your demo. Also,,, I wouldn't put Rapture on your cd either,,, I like it but it's has to be one of the most played out songs around. Maybe you should switch that with the new IIO track ;-)
But you have some nice tunes on there too,,, so give it a bit more thought and concentrate on the flow :toocool: |

And about having too many uplifiting tracks on a demo,,, I don't think that this is always a bad thing. It depends on where and who you're handing your demo out to. For example,,, if you start your demo off a bit slower and work your way into uplifiting stuff at end of your cd,,, this shows a bit of versatility. Also,,, this can help to get you an opening spot rather than no spot at all. By this I mean,,, anyone can randomly throw huge tracks together,,, but it deoesn't take any creativity.
hope that helped |

| To tell u the truth, u should remove some of those pvd stuff. If u sent me that demo and if i was a promoter i would never call u back. |

| And if your gonna do a cd, do about 5-6 songs max because they won't listen to your whole set. |

I agree, a demo cd hasn't to be too long and it don't need a big buildup. IMHO there would be 5-6 tracks that can impress very easily.
I'll do it so:
1.Tomcraft - Loneliness
2.Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia (EN MOTION REMIX)
3.Ghostland - Guide me god (PAUL VAN DYK REMIX)
4.GTR - Mistral
5.Kid Vicious - Proceed (KID VICIOUS REMAKE)
6.Nu Nrg - Dreamland

About the same produced tracks; I don't think its a big deal unless you play them all in a row like you have them. And 3 tracks by the same producer is a bit repetitive. I recently, a month ago, finally made a demo cd, and my tracklist is as follows:
1. Armin van Buuren ft. Ray Wilson - Yet Another Day (Hiver and Hammer's Ground Control Mix)
2. Kid Vicious - Proceed (Obsessive Remake)
3. GTR - Mistral
4. Hiver and Hammer - 5 Million Miles (H & H Different Gear Mix)
5. Armin van Buuren - Yet Another Dub
6. Matt Darey - Electro Buzz
7. Green Martian - Wizardry
8. Dj Tomcraft - Loneliness (Klub Mix)
9. Viframma - Cristalle (Katana & DJ Precision Remix)
10. System F - Solstice
Mix came out really smooth, and after receiving all these records, the mix is a maybe a month or too out of date. Really wish it didn't take so long for music to get to the US from Europe. Anyways, I put 2 hiver and hammer tracks on there as well as AvB's and it turned out really well. What are your opinions???
peace,

Exactly, I was thinking the same thing. Most club owners here won't know what the songs are. Thats what makes Europe totally different from the US. Its a good demo man, you should try it. You should also make a warm-up cd as well to give to them. I read that somewhere and decided to do that. I'm working on one now. You gotta look at it this way, you're not gonna get that headliner spot the first time or first couple of times for that matter. You're just gonna be the warm-up dj for the already residents there. So think about making a warm-up set as well.
peace,
