uhoh .. it's gettin pretty smokey in here too .. :p
Hockey is still CAnada's game .. but for a city like Toronto with a huge immigrant population that's growing at an exponential rate, soccer is gonna start to take a bigger influence here sooner or later.. |

as much as i love soccer, it has absolutely nothing on hockey...
1. If they didn't have all that body armour, they would be without much more then just their teeth... :toothless:
2. The rest of the world doesnt play hockey because you can only play hockey in select countries where you actually get heavy snow and ice, duh :rolleyes: ... as for soccer, all you need is a ball, a couple of bricks and you've got a game going on...
3. Comparing Canada's pathetic soccer team to any other country's is stupid... its like comparing Canada's hockey team to that of Zimbabwe... You should be comparing the two sports, not the teams themselves...
Hockey will always own soccer... the game is incredibly more dynamic, fastpaced and physical than soccer will ever be...

Hmm... it might be a bit more dynamic, but it still requires 100 pounds of body armour and equipment.
I think we should all agree that table tennis and badminton are two of the best sports ever invented by a human kind...

Hockey is mostly about scoring goals. Should scoring rate in hockey decrease, the ratings will go down like crazy. Why else would HNLers always invent new rules, to make the game more high scoring and more interesting.
Soccer is just beautiful. You can have a 0-0 game which can be a lot more interesting than a high-scoring game.
To each it's own, I don't think soccer is better than hockey, or hockey better than soccer. Soccer is definitely more appealing to me, but, as I mentioned before, looking at the young bright Russian hockey superstars always brings a smile to my face. |

| i've got a solution for everyone there has been this amazing invention in the world of electronics, it's called: "THE REMOTE CONTROL" it allows the viewer to change channels at will. I think this may resolve some of the heated debate on this part of the forum. |
