Nobody in Holland is trying to be cool by saying TE sucks. Every dutch TA wishes TE to be one of the biggest events, but TE simply isn't all that. In Holland TE is synonymous for commercialism, bad line-ups (every year almost the same line-up and no 'real' trance DJ's) and TMF/MTV people. Maybe we are spoilt, but if you would live here you would probably feel the same.
There are lots of other festivals to visit which stand for quality, such as Dance Valley, Mysteryland and Innercity. Plus there are lots of smaller parties which are way better than TE (e.g. Invited by Tiësto which is held next week in a club in Amsterdam). |

I'm going to Trance Energy just for the sake of going because I'm in Holland and this is a once in a life time opportunity. Back in America not a lot of people can say they've been to TE. I'll let you guys know how bad it was :p

A single dj spinning for 8 hours in a football stadium playing along a symphony orchestra, bands and singers doesn't stand out? What stands out then? Ferry and Armin playing at Godskitchen is nothing that out of the ordinary. Tiesto in Concert is a historic event, the guy's gonna do something that has never been done before. I'd like to see Ferry or Armin beat that :rolleyes: Tiesto haters bah :p |

But I hope you people have a nice time.
I've been to TE 3 times now & I think you can say that we ARE spoiled a bit. Most DJ 's that perform there are in the Top 40 & the people that go there are younger & younger each year. It wont do the trick anymore nowadays. Mass parties suck because of the inmens growd. 25000+ is so normal here. If you look how many parties there are this weekend as dutchies see that TE is 1 of the worst this weekend.
But you will have a great time there, no doubt about that! |

there is this WICKED psytranceparty to which quite a number of us dutchies are going :) , lots and lots cheaper, waaaaaaaaaaay better atmoshere and better music as well (the trance in trance energy has dissapeared a while ago :conf: ).There used to be a time in which people like judge jules, scott bond, ferry corsten etc. etc. were playing at TE.. seems like AGES ago :p .
nevertheless have a good time y'all, it won't dissapoint ya, there is just so much else out there... :) . |
