So were do you think trance is going , will it go Underground go harder Become more Tech or will it die out all together ?

I still love Trance, but I don't go as bonkers over it like I used too, when the good club Trance started coming out a few years back. That's why I'm getting into more of Hard Tech Trance which isn't so euphoric all the time like Trance can be...Just makes a change that's all.
patticus
i dont know where its headed, i think both more progressive and more tech-y.
there isnt as much great quality uplifting stuff being produced, people get excited over dumonde and riva.
yknow what i mean? its good stuff, but not hooj. i think magik 6 was a symbol for the end of an era..
think back to 98-00 those years were just packed with uplifting classic tracks.
just listen to any of the essential mixes from 99-00 and you'll see. vernons wonderland, nalin & kane, cequenza, sasha, blank & jones, agnelli & nelson, taste experience and so many others produced what i feel to be the epitome of trance.
its either/or harder and more progressive now, and it shows in ferry's new trance nation.
oliver lieb, rui da silva, futureshock (i think ?), luzon.

the main uplifting producers will be primarily dutch now, while they're great, it leaves a big gaping hole to be filled.

a month ago i thought trance was gonig deeper.. BUT
recently i've heard a lot of tracks which are more chilled and ambient.. like the new L-Vee track the new Minimalistix track, etc.. so i dunno
we could have a repeat of 97

Well, In my opinion, the EPIC trance itself will go tours the underground, and the Progressive Trance ( called sound of this year in UK,... IBIZA ) and will also get more Tech, as people seemed to be getting that on demand, and asking for harder, stomping tunes, but see, since there was the Uplifting, Epic euphoric tracks, if they kinda go away, they will make a come back as people may want again the Epic, uplifting tracks after all the progressive and hard stuff... just like it happened in the 90's... in the beggining of trance.. uplifting, melodic, epic ?!? yes.. and it made a FULL on come back on 98 - 00... just time will say..
--- Something I noticed, last Year, Hard House was called the new trance in UK, and Im seen more of the trance alot more then the HH, although trance never faded, it seemed that it once again, took its place where it deserves, Fergie, surprisely, I have heard no from one, but many comments that his been playing alot of the Hard Trance. So, how knows!! :-)
breakdown
well theres the nu-nrg breed of sundissential.. like fergie, lisa lashes, anne savage, etc..
and then theres the deeper hard house..
the new trance of UK would probably be the darker side of HH.. *shrugs8
Bloodhound
i truly believe that trance is becoming hard/progresive, i started listening to trance in the days of gouryella, out of the blue and no the music isnt the way it used to be. now the beat is harder, darker, not as uplifting as the music used to be.
breakdown
ahhh! but u see! its all a big cycle..
trance may be heading progressive and harder.. but eventually,we'll be back where it was 2-3 years ago..
beroshima
I see it splitting in a few directions:

- Progressive Trance (Big time - Max Graham, Orkidea, Dave Seaman, even recent Taucher sets have been like that)
- Hard Trance (Not to be confused with trancecore, just mid-tempo pounding hard tracks with little or no vocals)
- Neo-Acid Trance (Is that the best way to desribe Moogwai-like scorchers?)
- Trance-House (Like Rui Da Silva, that first track on Tiesto's most recent Dance Dept)

Tech-Trance is a little fad, only really works as a filler, and will fade into being considered part of techno or tech-house, IMO...
breakdown
i still think that epic trance might slightly be making a breakthrough.... personal opinion.. just slightly

patticus
i agree with beroshima and bloodhound on all points. infinty, im curious as to how you view epic trance as making a breakthrough?

the hard stuff defintely and the hous-ish stuff. like lost vagueness, rui are great examples of the house, baguette (all of picottos stuff) and flight 643 for hard trance.
actually just comparing tiesto's more recent sets you can see how his sound as changed from say, live @ zoom in israel.
and looking at magik 7 tracklisting, you realize how different it is from magik 6 (much less 1, 2, 3 etc.)

the epic dutch stuff (maybe this is what you meant infin) is starting to blow up w. armin and vdm rising. Push (and M.I.K.E. is gonna be a huge staple for uplifting)
but that... uk (?) stuff has been non-existent.. where's x-cabs gone to? prog now. tilt? matt darey? lucid? en motion? mansun? (sorry thats enough names) airwave and minimalistix as well as others must step up and fill their shoes.. this rank 1 stuff is getting sickening and repetitive
breakdown
hehe.. i just have a hunch.. with some of the recent tracks which have come out..
l-vee - made in heaven is a fine example
... there are a few more.. which i've kinda forgotten.. hehe .just wait and see...
