Here it is, the Hall of Shame. This is where you post the dumbest things that people say in the political forum. Hopefully this will deter people from posting crap on here. Cheers to izzy for the idea.
Now, the criteria for this must be clear. Someones post is not dumb if you disagree with it, but rather if it is not of value as a political statement. this includes unsubstantiated claims, deliberate lies, obvious propaganda.
It also includes horribly written posts. A spelling mistake is ok now and then, but if it's so bad you can't understand what is being said, then it qualifies. Please, try to use proper grammar as well, a missing period is one thing, but 27 line posts with no punctuation are just unreadable.
And finally, it covers personal attacks, of other members of the forum, or members of the international community. If you have a problem with someone, then say why, don't just insult them.
I think that is about it, i will add to this list of infractions if neccesary.
Perhaps after a time, we will even have a vote on the dumbest post of the month or something?

| this thread is going to lead to massive flame wars...why scrutinize someone on these forums just because they posted something everyone else thought was dumb? how would the person feel if he or she was reading their own crap posted by someone else who thought he/she was an idiot for posting that? |

the purpose is to make them feel shamed, so they won't do it again.
in response to your post, let's try NOT to have a flame war, and keep it to simply pointing out bad posts. let's not argue about them here, but instead open another thread, or handle it through a PM. that will keep this thread clean. |

how was my post stupid? like what you said in ur first post...did it include deliberate lies, unsubstantiated claims? if you thought my post was dumb, whatever you started this thread:rolleyes: but anyway...

Good intentions...but ultimately this will lead to more flaming and provication, as Tuan already mentioned. In some discussions, disagreement is inevitable and what better childish way is there to get back at someone you disagree with than to post that person's comments in here. Also, this will discourage some people from posting anything in here at all--and I'm refering to those people who actually have an interesting point to make.
And anyway, the mods seem to do a fair job of keeping the peace.
