Yeah sure!
My team (Vitesse Arnhem) played at Anfield in the 3rd round of the UEFA-Cup and there was no atmosphere at all! Only before the match started, they all sang 'You'll never walk alone' and that was it for the rest of the match! |

After looking at the video I posted, you'll see how great the Kop was. With standing these days, you get parents and kids just sitting there doing nothing, like a family picnic. There is still singing in the kop but it isnt as imposing as it was.
The best atmosphere in a long time was against Roma last year. When Liverpool fans go to cardiff millenium stadium for a cup final or an away match, they are heaps louder and sing more than at Anfield. |

| I cheer for the Chicago Fire... I'm also a Celtic fan. If I posted any pictures of Fire games, you would all have a good laugh. Our games are like picnics compared to overseas matches. |

I like Celtic, but to be honest the Celtic fans were very quiet. 35,000 fans in the ground and I could have heard a pin drop for the entirity of the second half. It seems like everyone got tired of chanting after about 30 minutes. Away supporters are supposed to stand the entire time they're in the stadium (even the Porto fans did this, although they were quiet for the entire game), yet the vast majority of the Celtic fans chose to sit for most of the match. I have to say I was expecting much better. Maybe we didn't get the full atmosphere on TV :conf:
Although it now sounds like there were a lot less than 95,000 (I think the latest figures were about 70,000), the travelling support was certainly great in number, but you have to remember that for the rest of the tournament it was nothing like that. Newcastle sent more fans to Milan for an ordinary group game than Celtic sent to Liverpool for the Quarter final. Considering Liverpool is only a few hours on the train and Celtic have a much bigger fanbase than Newcastle you'd think more Celtic fans would have gone. It was good to hear both clubs joining in with 'You'll Never Walk Alone' though, I'd say there was much more noise at the Celtic/Liverpool games than the final. |

A couple of things:
In Sevilla: You had to be in the ground to experience it, the noise was incredible(mostly from Celtic fans)in the second half too. I have watched the game on video and the TV doesn't do justice to the atmosphere (probably due to the shape of the ground...old fashioned Oval)...also the temperatures were in the 90's during the game and the catering ran out of water, coke etc....so by the end there were a lot of dehydrated fans.
As for the Liverpool game.....Celtic were only allocated 2,500 tickets but there were also Celtic fans in the Kop, the main stand because Liverpool fans were selling their tickets to us. |

On TV the first 30 minutes were very loud, but then it suddenly deteriorated and never picked up again. I remember them discussing the temperatures, I think the Portuguese did have an advantage in that heat, espescially going into extra time.
It might have been the TV because every time I heard the Newcastle fans in the San Siro it sounded slightly echoed, like it was being broadcast from the opposite end of the ground. I know what the oval stadiums are like, we were in the far top corner in the Nou Camp, about half a mile from the bloody pitch and even further with the TV crews at the far corner.
Call me weird, but I like going to matches when it's cold, everyone sings constantly to keep warm, the atmosphere is great. |

I went down to Boston for the first round of the Gold Cup to support Canada with some of my mates. I caught a few US nats games as well as a MLS game on top of that. I was impressed with the level of support in the MLS, they had a couple of packed buses of hardcore travelling fans which pleasently surprised me. I saw Tim Howard in his last games for the NY Metrostars right b4 he signed with Man U, that was something, beautiful match I might add between NY and New England Revolution, 3-3! I was thoroughly impressed.
Arriving at the impressive Gillette stadium & dealing with 15000 CostaRicans b4 the match
several dozens of Toronto boys
CANADA - COSTA RICA : 1-0
warming up
CANADA - CUBA : a ing disaster !

First time since 1996 Canada is kicked out in the first round. Not really totally surprising considering the fact that more than half of our squad wasn't there... regardless the loss to Cuba was a ing disgrace
here are some random pics
a solid contingent of travelling NY fanatics in New England
