| most def save up for technics 1200's mk2's or 3's they will be well worth it but as a first mixer you don't have to get the best. i have a vestax pmc 170a mixer and its reall good for the price. also get sony mdr v700 headphones...there oneof the best headphones out and headphones are important, you want good headphones not ones. well happy hunting :) |

Mixer- Numark 1001 or 1002 for beginners are good, straight forward, just to warn you the cross fader, the equalizers and the sound quality are baadd.. price roughly $250 Canadian. The best buy is the Stanton rm3. Fairly good sound quality, three channel, nice kill switches, price $400.
Tables- Technics 1200's are by far the best decks.$700-750
Headphones- Sony MDR-V500 are really good,$129.Yeah the V700 are for really deaf dj's, but there the best.$220
Needles- For starters the low end Stanton needles are good.
Don't blow your money on ortofon needles, at least not yet.
Some sites you might want to check out

the seinheuiser, or however you spell it, are supposed to be the best cans available right now |

| since when does sony start to produce cd decks? i know they start producing turntables some monthes ago |

they're not the type of decks like the pioneers
they're a grade above teh consumer level, i'm not sure what the model number is
all i know is that it's installed into the stack i grab from the warehouse when i have to do a show |

| k..well where do you live? Id almost suggest starting to buy vinyl now, cuz if you dont, well..youll have your setup and nothing to play.. 1200s cost about $1200 Cdn here. Check out Axe Music. They generally have the lowest price around my area. And in my opinion, Vestax makes the best mixers, you might wanna get a 4 channel mixer, so then you can cheap out and play CDs if need be if you cant find the vinyl. |
