June 14, 2002 PvD at Exit NYC

it is on the first page of the Global DVD booklet and in the first video. were any TA's there? if so was there anyhting special about it?
that nighti was actually staying in the Friedrichshein clubbing district of eastern Berlin..where CASINO is located (watch tracks 6 and 7 of the DVD and you'll know what i'm talking about). |

there were a whole bunch of NYTA's there... it wasn't really a special night.. probably one of the worse PvD nights in NY from a atmosphere/vibe perspective... his set was pretty good though...
it was insanely hot and stuffy in there too... if you look at the fan statements, that asian guy who kept calling him a god was from exit and the camera lens fogged up because of all the nastyness in there...
oh... and all those balloons that dopped had PvD's name misspelled on tehm.. it was like Paul van Dyck...
still nice to have footage from that night though... |

that was the worst pvd nights EVER in nyc history... u ppl need to understand, exit has the worst crowd in nyc + the worst resident dj in nyc as well(he didnt play this night however, it was luis diaz, pvd, then edgar v) there was no vibe at all, maybe like 30-40% were pvd fans and the rest were either exit regulars or the ones that came for the hype to see a "famous techno dj" so well pvd himself didnt look too happy either.. i was on the second fl. on the right side of pvd and was getting a perfect view of him mixing, and lol when those balloons with his name on it came down from the ceiling, and ppl were all popping them,(this lasted about 30 secs..lol) that mad ridiculous... and i was looking at pvd's facial expression while this was going on, and he had a pissed off look like wtf??? musically he was ok, def. not one of his better nights.. the crowd was just lost..being the great dj that he is, he slams obvious classics like Words, and Cream to bring the crowd back up.. played a 4 hour set then edgar v came on..
funny that tiesto came to this venue(exit) twice.. i dont think any dj will wanna come back to exit to play after they had the experience once...oh i forgot, oakey did..lol:haha: :haha: |

I didn't go b/c i didn't want to spend my bday at Exit. :o
Dude Tiesto hates Exit more than anyone, he has even said it publicly in a couple of interviews. He came twice in a span of less than 2 months because that was the deal he had done. And they did that big stage for him. The other one was better.
Oakey is the only one that keeps going back to Exit :haha: |

hello,
I was at Exit also. Unfortunately the club is really bad (eventhough is very big), and the crowd was horrible that night too. however, his set was really amazing. He made a little PaulplaysPaul playing Words, Step Right On 2001, Seven Ways 2002, Forbidden Fruit 2002, Cream, Club Attack, Another Way, among others.
overall, it was an ok night, but I'm glad in the dvd, they made it look cool ;)

heh. I dunno. I never saw the camera man, only in the booth filmin the crowd. if you notice the stairs, I walked by those several times but I never saw the guy :whip:
oh wells! :p
