Mauro Picotto vs. Dave Clarke (pg. 4)

| Theres really no argument here as they are both totally different kind of djs. Dave Clarke started out spinning hiphop in the 80's and with this experience, has turned into one of the most respected techno dj's ever. Mauro has been spinning for about half as long as Dave, and his career as a dj was sparked by his more "commercial" productions, and not as much his dj skills. Though Mauro is a very good dj, as well as a great mixer and producer, his true dj skills dont come even close to what Dave can do on the decks. Though i did vote for Mauro, it was truly based on my love for his music, and for the energy he brings to every party he spins at. But for "pure" techno, you gotta go with DC. |

last time I saw Clarke, i had to go to a different area, since I was about to fall asleep.
last time I saw Picotto, I needed medical attention for my feet, since there were on fire (from teh dancing u know?)

I am a techno addict, and the reason i voted for Mauro is because i like Mauro's track selection better. Mauros style of techno is more appealing to me, and his music is also WAY better to dance to! |

that's u and ur opinion about the guy - i respect that..
but see i have the same opinion about dc, and his sets can me groove a whole lot easier than mauro's.. btw. i d/l that set from nature1, a couple of nice tracks, i repeat a couple.. his mixing was ok - standard... ;)
but i still love dave :D |

technically, Dave is far better than a lot of other DJs on the scene today.
I haven't heard either of them in person so I can't vote...but in terms of raw techno and mixing ability/creativity, my vote is for Clarke. (of course, that's not all that matters.) |

Well im glad you took my advice on downloading that set, and that you found at least a few tracks to you liking. And i can totally see why you'd prefer DC over MP (you like the raw ), and i respect that as well. Thanks for your input, and for going a little deeper than just labeling Mauro "crappytrance"!

I just hope he comes to town, if not - mtl here i come :)
i wanna hear him b4 the summer, cuz i'm pretty sure i'm gonna hear him spin somewhere in europe.. ;)
but i still don't get it - how can it be 26 to 21 for MP?? |

| I like Mauro better. Both have incredible mixing skills, I love Mauro's productions and I like his style a bit better. And how can you say Mauro is for newbies? it's a matter of taste. It's like saying Tiesto is for trance newbies :rolleyes: |

Its 26 to 21 cause a lot of trance people havent even heard of DC, where as almost 99% of anyone here has heard of MP (since he was more associated with trance in the early days).
