I am so thankful that I tried out prog. It took me a while to really "understand" it. It opens the door to a lot of genres for me, such as House, Tech-house, Techno, Breaks, etc.
Nevertheless, welcome to the world of Prog! |

i can't see, why the taste of the whole community is based on the opinion on a couple dozens of people. TA has 13.000+ registered members and saying that progressive has become more popular than prog is just silly :stongue:
i like good trance and i like good prog, it has always been like that and nothing will change it (at least for a while).

Wow!
I'm impressed to see that this hasnt become a flame war.
And thats simply coz people are saying that they like prog, and not dissing trance, so trnace peeps wouldnt get offended.
Nicely done, you see proggies and trancers can live in harmony :D |

ah my mind runs faster than i can type :)
where i live diggers and sasha are still considered as trance and in the same basket like pvd or tiesto :conf: :conf: :conf:
krooootoon ;): i think that progressive and trance go hand in hand and they wouldn't exist without eachother. what do u say about that?

Im not a big fan of it myself, but wont go around dissing it for no reason.
If someone however disses trance, then I kinda feel obligided to retaliate in a harsh manner.
To each his own :)
ps. it is fun to mix tho ;) |

| Well, I love progressive very much. But I still like trance. It is possible to actually like two different genres at the same time. |

Although I understand that, as mentioned, there is still plenty of quality trance being released, to me, the general trance "sound" is just getting a little tiresome. Hence my greater and greater affinity for progressive.
Most likely, many people who have "switched" (or at least, "opened up") will feel the same.
What I'm trying to say is that ultimately, as anything, musical tastes change.
I used to be glad that, despite seeing and hearing people "switching" genres - not necessarily just trance - I was, at least, rooted and loyal to "regular" trance - including uplifting, hard, etc.
But that's changed now. :D :nervous: |
