i installed more memory....and on bootup i got this message...
"Serial presence detected (SPD):Unavailable - memory speed unknown"
"100mhz memory assumed"
then my comp boots up fine, reading and showing the added memory.....
I searched google for answeres to what this means but did not find anything useful....
I basically want to know if i should remove this memory or if it is "SAFE" to keep and continue to use in my machine...
does anyone know? |

what motherboard you got? there is a bios setting that allows the memory speed to be set automacally by spd (what simply is a lil chip that tells the rest of the world what speed that memory runs at) and imm asuming that your bios is set up to use this and the spd on the memory is not there or defective, let me know your motherboard name and what memory it is, as well as anymemory you allready have fitted |
