massive anti-war rallies across the world... (pg. 6)

Heh, even here in Zagreb we had about 5000 to 6000 people protesting.

That's a pretty large number considering that people here are usually right-winged and indifferent of global happenings outside of balkan area. Last anti-war protes here was when NATO bombed Serbia, and there was a single one serbian guy protesting. It was funny because they organized a police guards around the american embassy and it ended up it was all because of one guy. But this time it was more than 5000 times greater response :p .

And mike, dude, open up a little. You want so much for people to understand Israeli cause, but you can't get people to care for what you are saying by calling them terrorists and insulting them. You are just pissing them off, and since on these boards every person is willingly or unwillingly representing the nation he/she belongs to in some way you aren't portraying Israel in a good way either. You represent a close minded war mongering individual. Don't get offended, but many people here think of you as a stupid person that needs to grow up. If it weren't for people like Izzy, Yoepus and oDrori and if you were the only representation of an israeli person on this board, I'd start to unconditionally support palestinians and to think of Israel as an extremely right wing state. Look at what's happening with America now. Because of Bush's agressive stupid behaviour, most of the world is against him. Most of the world was with him on 11.9. and the only reason he lost that support was his arrogance and agressive behaviour. Not many people were against attacking Afghanistan, because we all know Talibans were total idiots and lunatics which needed to be removed from this world as soon as possible. But then Bush turned the idea of national security into preventive wars, which is totally unjustifiable and lost all support. If you really want to help Israel, be nicer to people, offer information but let people come alone to their conclusions, and allow that somebody can have different oppinion and you might be wrong, or if that's so hard for you to do, then at least don't say anything at all. If you present correct information and somebody is still denying it, let him, it doesn't harm your case it harms the case of the person denying the facts. But if you start being agressive, you lose your case also. By forcing your views onto people, your only achievement will be that the people will disregard what you are saying, even if you are saying facts. And even if you start behaving nicely now, it will take some time for people to start considering what you are saying, but ultimately they will do it. I don't think you'll really consider what I'm saying, but I still said it in hope you will at least think about it a bit.

Well said drug-dito.... Melek-mike... just try an be a little nice here and im sure you will be given the respect you probably may deserve.

By the way.. i just saw the funniest thing on TV. I wa analyzing the way CNN was broadcasting these protests.. and one reporter who was on location in Mexico City... on a deserted sidewalk.. was accompanied by a guy who held up a sign that said "GWB-TERRORIST #1"... and the reporter didnt know this.... imagine the thousands who saw that!

i feel sad for the people who will eventually suffer (1, 5, 10 years down the track) because the world was too afraid to stop saddam today.

if the naysayers have it, then we will go through this process again in another 5-10 years. saddam will be slowly disarmed through so-called containment (just like the years leading up to 1998), then will slowly rebuild his WMD programme (or continue it?) until the world has the same problem in another decade.

or maybe saddam won't want peace next time...and then what?

thats as maybe, by that time we may not have the terrorism threat, or the north korea threat, which are far more pressing ;)

Consider it considered!;)
i understand that i come off very right wing, but the truth is the situation in this world has made me this way.
I feel very strongly that we should not sympathize with people who have to resort to terrorist activity to be heard! their situations may or may not be important, but that does not justify the killing of innocent men and women for their political or religious beliefs to be accepted.
i've heard the other side. i will try and be more open minded to what others feel, but its hard when biases exist even on this board ( with moderators who threaten evil things on those who 'dare' to call arafat a terrorist or oppose their view ). makes me feel like its pointless having intellectual conversations with some people on this board. Because of this exchange of words between others who oppose my opinions and i, everyone else thinks i'm a dick because i take things a little more agressively.

I'm not on this board to make 'friends', at the same time, i'm not here to make enemies either!

i'm not smacking anyone in the face with my opinion, i simply state it like any other TA. Is the fact that i offer websites (that are in no way propaganda, lies, or racist), make me pushing onto people? you could choose to click the link or not... and i'm sure many of you did!~

I believe in equality, and feel that everyones opinion matters.
I'm just shocked that the world, even after 9/11 (and other terror attacks), still sympathizes with terrorists!

Please, no one jump me for saying that saddam is a terrorist. its me opinions and thanksfully that of many other educated people in the world. I'm glad that i'm not the only one who feels Saddam and other like him are a threat to world peace and stability. he must be eliminated immediately. this will shot other like him not to around!

i'll be the first to admit that innocent people die due to war, but the future is unclear with tyrants like this. Who knows how many more innocent people will have to die if we dont ask now.
It seems to me that people easiely forget what can happen in an instant. Why wait for terror to strick again, when we could prevent the tragedy of innocent bloodshed!

But thats just what i think.
My opinion is not important... because i'm the minority opinion on this board, right Cyrus...right AZ?

Thanks for your concern drug-tito, it was very well put!

i respect people who voice their opinion, i hate people who do it ignorantly. its alright to disagree with someone, but to make it a personal thing deserives no merit

as i said you dont have to agree with bush, hell i dont even agree with some of the stuff he does... but portraying him as a racist, as a baby killer, that low and stupid. going from one extreme to the other is also bad. its ironic how some people have the nerve to call bush ignorant
LiquidX
To Izzy : when you QUOATED what I said that Bush sucked himself up, I was referring that yesterday ( SATURDAY ) Bush did not even show his face, nor commented. Tony Blair did, but the main person to atleast whom I was waiting to see his view or comment, was Mr.Bush .. so I basically said that he had sucked himself up, stragled in a situation, where he is basically realizing that the things that he wants done, arent done as he thought they would, and that by been the president of the most powerfull country, does not usually mean that you can run every other nations opinions and views.

Well, we in the USA see leaders, like Saddam Hussein and probably many other leaders, where we also say comments and so on about them, we can most likely be right, but at the time, we can also be wrong. The same is the case with Bush. People see the outcome effects of a WAR, something they try to point out to Bush what a WAR actually means, but they see that Bush does not see it that way. People defend what they thing needs to be defended on many cases, and on the rallies, people did not just rallied against a war, but against the Bush administrations actions as well. And for Bush been ignorant, well, that I can say with confidence that he really is very ignorant. If it werent for the his administration, he would be no one. Trust me, so thank god that he chose at least a Vice President that can helo run, whom I find a pretty strong leader .. Dick Cheney, though, his face has merely disappeared lately.

In my opinion... i really think that Bush carries more negative quealities than positive ones. Since his presidency... i have never seen so much negative attention come his way... people just dont think someone is a piece of for no reason...
