Talla 2XLC Review (pg. 4)

ok, my 2 minute review (need to pickup laundry soon):

1. Gafaar was nice, but I don't like trance that much
2. Talla played exactly TWO songs, that I like "The Prophecy" and "Vanguard - Flash". Yes, it brought up a lot of good summer memories. I felt almost at home.
3. I have been _REALLY_ impressed by a DJ in NYC, three times:

  1. PvD @ SF
  2. Chris Liebing @ Tronic
  3. Victor @ Arc

I am sure many of you have heard my whining about Arc's soundsystem and it not being loud enough et al. Well, I was wrong. Up to now, every DJ, whom I have heard there, was missing one thing that I am addicted to: "BASS". My fellow TA's, I have not ONCE heard anyone play this amount of good tracks at Arc. My legs are _STILL_ killing me. Two days after a party with dead legs doesn't happen to me sober often. Actually, it is QUITE rare, but with the stuff Vcitor was spinning, I jsut couldn't stop.

my track in his set, that i cannot get out of my head "Don Diablo - Acceleration". Thanks to Lunasea for this ID and for the shower.

glad to see the rest of you hanging in there till 8 am. :)

c u all on Friday.

Hey guys, this is Gaafar.....I had a great time spinning at Arc last Sat. I definitely enjoyed playing some of my fave tunes on the Phazon.

Thanks for the reviews and more importantly thanks for coming out to support.

I have lots of pictures from the night and a film clip too. Greg (drizzt81) it was great to meet you. You definitely show up in a load of pictures :)......btw I didn't just drop trance....I had some deep tech house and breaks in there too ;)

If I had more time I would've dropped more techno :D

I'm very glad to hear that you had a good time. It's a total high to feed off of the crowd when I play and I was on cloud 9 when I was up there spinning. Unfortunately I did not record my set.....but if you want to hear some of my live mixes, you can find them on www.ezdreamer.com

There are a bunch of my cd's there too all in the media section. I usually love to play the deeper, more soul-searching, mind-bending trance. But I always punctuate any of my sets/cd's with a variety of electronica from Tribal and Tech House to breaks and dark progressive. As you can tell from my set, I like long songs that have a developing pace with a longer build-up and powerful bassline. That way I can mix in tunes way way early and have the whole set have a seamless flow.

The pictures will be posted in a couple of days......I had to drive someone close to me to Boston on Sunday b/c she was stranded in NYC b/c of the snow and couldn't get back. Now I myself am stranded in Boston and probably won't make it back to Philadelphia until tomorrow.

I'll definitely keep you all posted of my next gigs in the near future. Though I'm sure I'm going to see everyone and their mother at PvD this Friday.

much love to everyone

TALLA TUNE OF THE NIGHT (Right Up There With Proceed)

Just found a full rip of it now. Song Is Sick!!!! It might not be as good as Proceed but it's up there with it.

On a side note, having nothing to do with Talla, I found #7 off the Hardwick set!!! The Lord of the Rings Song! It's not Lord of the Rings. It's (John Stephens) - Ethereal (JS10 Remix) also spelled (Jsten Remix). Hardwick played this at Arc too.
