And using his name, he asks better artists to make remixes to his ty tunes to make even more money.

I hate him because he, again, uses his popularity to "host" a radioshow only to have tracks mixed on a computer (Someone asked for proof, I read it on DJmixes2k). I hate him bacause he can't mix and gets voted for #1 DJ. Listen to most of his sets, crossfading is not mixing.

Bullet in the Gun, one track you don't like, woohoo. Shut the up. Ever seen the reaction this got in Gatecrasher when it and Oakie was in it's hey day? erm no!, and thats where it counts, Gatecrasher ;)
A POS album like Bunkka?? wtf? not enough trance on there for you lovey? well boo ing hoo. The album was released with critical acclaim, how many other dance artists can say that the majority of people liked there album?
DJmixes2k is not a credible source you up.

I don't actually like some of the tracks on those tracklists, but what they show is that his sets are no longer random, they flow nicely, which is what Oakenfold sets were all about ;)
You've been listening to him for 5 years? wow. Go listen to the stuff from 9 years ago, and see how the guy has progressed. You've been banging your head wondering how he's got to the top? you must be ing stupid! It's called the 1999 Essential Mix world tour, and Paul Oakenfold set the standard for DJ's in that year. He very rarely played the same tune twice, his sets varied so much, without a loss in quality. Wow you've heard him trainwreck, twice in a set! I've heard PvD do it every other mix for nearly half a 3 hour set, at a major event. It's no secret that Oakie went to america, and has been arsing around ever since, he may have been the first to go over there and be able to play off his name, but he won't be the last. Scott Bond, Eddie Halliwell, Marco V spring to mind, of DJ's that goto america, get wasted, and spin badly. But they still play well where it counts, in Europe, and make no mistake, that is where it counts.......
so in short, you're wrong, both of you ;)

DJ Skribble.

He'll mix songs 4-6 years old on MTV, and call it the latest in dance music. Although I haven't seen MTV since spring break 3 years ago.

Havent seem too many big names, but those that I have:

Jules, seen him three times, they all stank, just dont like his style of music, he didnt even do any research when he played in Cpae Town as to what styles go down well there, his floaty and commercial stuff was very ill received. I've heard that he does have good sets however.

Tiesto, I dont reckon he's bad, but just not all my style, too slow and floaty for my tastes.

PvD... whoo, keep him away! Saw him at Passion Feb 1st, and both JFK and Westy creamed him. His music is just too... abstract I guess.
Im starting to think he does all these re-works so he can mix the tracks easier (he butchered Massive, I'll tell you that much)
Dont get all the fuss, but in the end, its down to what YOU like that'll decided WHO you dislike :p

lol..I was just thinking the same thing the other day. However, i do think his reworks work very well in the live atmosphere. For the record i love pvd, but i think alot of people just say they hate him because it seems trendy for trance fans to hate ANYTHING even remotely popular.

Hehe, you prolly rite.
Well I dont hate him, and its not coz he's popular, he's style just dunna do NEthing for me :D

well how hipocritical can u get..u jump over this guy for not seeing oakie live and the reactions he gets from the crowd...however u havent seen the DJ's play in the U.S and u base a judgement..so i would suggest the same thing u suggested to that guy..to shut the up...cause i saw scott bond here for days ago and he played a great set opening up with third earth and playing some off the hook stuff with spot on mixing..marco v when i saw him also played an amazing set playing godd is a DJ(in october) for only the second time ever along with top notch stuff..oakie i seen him in a huge event twice among others but..the first time he played a horrible set and people got on him for that noone let it go..so when he returned the next year he played one hell of a set blowing everybody away one of the best sets i ever heard played by someone goin from brand new stuff to classics...so oakie can do awesome sets when he wants..and dont gimme about djs and the usa..dont be a en hipocrate

Im really confused with this thread I really am, now me personally i stay away from these threads because it does nothing but piss people off, if u have an opinion about a DJ keep it to urself, All these threads do is get people angry, and then there are arguments and stupid being thrown around. If you dont like someone for there style or the way they mix thats ur problem, im sure have of you if not all would love to be in any of those DJs postions doing what they do and enjoying there lives because they have made it already, were im sure people in this thread are working there way up such as my self, so do urselves all favors if you have an opinion on someone keep it to urself because then arguments start and gets all ed up and wrong info is presented, thats all I have to say.

PEACE
