| Because Chrome's address bar also functions as a search engine, which is why I don't use Yahoo anymore :p |

| oh so you just recommended yahoo for fun? :p anyway I think most browsers do that, if you enter a text in the address-bar it will use the default search engine to search for that string. At least Opera does it. |

Safari and Firefox don't. They have a separate little search engine bar where you can change which search engine you want to use, but it's not part of the address bar. Splitting hairs, but still, they're not part of the address bar.
I guess I do still use Yahoo on my iPad and iPod, but that's only because Chrome isn't supported and I hate Safari. |

Opera also has the search-engine-bar as an extension to the address-bar:
So to hell with your gypsy browsers! |

| I've never used Opera before. Although I do remember reading an article about it being used almost exclusively by gays :p |

you can't joke about that when you're on a mac. especially not after I gave you that subtle suggestion to a new home page :D |

| firefox does it from the address bar. if i type in "trance addict" it will either come here; or go to google and search for it. |

:stongue: :stongue: I must say I missed that one. Well played, sir.
Although now that I think about it, was that directed at me, or was it just the page you were currently on? ;) |

Ahh, you are right. I guess I haven't used Firefox for awhile :tongue2
EDIT: Vernon, he's right. I just tried it on Firefox 3.6.13 for Mac and the address bar also takes me to Yahoo if I type in a non-URL. It's probably because Windows 7 tries very hard to copy OSX :toothless |
