New Reverb Plug-in

There is a new reverb plug-in by a company called Silverspike called Reverb.it. It is getting stellar reviews. The most interesting part about it is that you can control the quality of the reverb tail, depending on how much cpu you want to use. It is being compared to waves and lexicon. The price-$39.00. Has anyone heard anything about this one? I want a great reverb, and by great I mean near lexicon quality, but I don't want to spend that much money, so I'm thinking about this one.

Tried it, didn't like it. In fact, I havn't tried a single Reverb plug that has been better then Fruityloops Reverb plug.

Waves make absolutely the clearest sounding software reverb that I've tried. Whether that makes it the best is another argument ;)

Why do you think you need a "near lexicon" quality reverb out of interest? Lesser models will do the trick, especially if you have other tracks running alongside.

I don't really need Lexicon quality. But if I can find a plugin out there that compares to it and is much less money then I would snatch it up in a hurry.

On a related note, I have an story regarding Waves plugins. Basically, it was a bad experience. I got Waves off Kazaa, something I rarely do, but I just don't have the quid right now. Anyway, one day (in Cubase SL) I loaded up a Waves Renaissance Verb or TrueVerb or S1 stereoimager (can't remember which one). I walked away from my DAW for a second and this high pitched squeal starting blaring out of my monitors. I mean so loud and strident that I damn near pissed my pants. I didn't have any audio running at the time. All of this happened a couple of seconds after I activated one of the Waves plugins. The squeal, or feedback, or whatever it was, wouldn't stop and I had to yank a couple of power cords. I'm afraid to use Waves again. Was this just a fluke or has anyone else had a similar experience. I guess it was just bad karma for having downloaded off Kazaa. Another thing I remember was that all of the text on the Waves GUI disappeared right before the sound occured. I'm really thinking about getting the native bundle, but not if this kind of thing happens again.

I like the Fruity's reeverb and some of Buzz Reveerb Machines, but i dont remember each name (my buzz installer came with thousands of machines) lol.
Sonic Foundry Reeverb sounds cool too.
And i dont really think there is exactly a better one, that depends on the sound u want for that specific sample.
There r plenty of crapy ones, though :D

I've been using Waves pluggins for many hours and never had any kind of problem with them.

I have read from others that the full version suffers because of very badly written copy protection (that makes them crash badly). If you don't like this behaviour, go with the ArCTiC version.

Silverspike reverb it isn't really new, it's out there for some time. As for good or not, that's a personal opinion.

If you want to have a lexicon sounding reverb, the Timeworks ReverbX and 480L are using lexicon algorythms (and they really sound like them), but are real cpu hogs.

Also, don't try to limit yourself to one reverb. Each reverb has it's positive points and negative ones. Some people like using Waves for strings and stuff, but prefer TC reverbs on vocals, because they give a different feeling to it. The same happens with hardware effects you know.

Im happy with my logic reverbs :D
