Also the Dateline special last night featured an interview with Bill Dworin, a retired LAPD police detective, who frequently investigated cases of pedophilia and was the lead detective in the 1993 case involving Jackson. Besides describing the 13-year-old boy whom Jackson allegedly molested as "a very credible witness," Dworin discloses that police who searched Jackson's Neverland residence discovered books of pictures of nude children. "This itself is not a crime," Dworin maintained, although he added, "Pedophiles will frequently have this material available." He also noted that Jackson had the hallway leading to his bedroom wired so that an alarm would be set off by anyone approaching it. "To me, it suggested that it was a warning in case something was occurring that was improper, that that activity would stop," Dworin said. Finally, the special pointed out that Mark Schaffel, the person responsible for producing Jackson's rebuttal to last week's Martin Bashir documentary, due to air Thursday night on Fox, is also a producer of gay porn films. |
