Thats my view maybe not everybody elses. He plays the best tunes, in way that I like. Let people form there own opinions on the matter and stop trying to get everybody to think that these forementioned dj's are the best cos they pay REAL TECHNO. And by the way dj rush pisses on all the above. Russian roulette - just fall out,,,, TUNEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!
Major rush - thats the biggest ten inches.TUNEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!
Pounding grooves 11 rush remix (break it on down) TUNEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

To me adam beyers productions sound repetitive and boring along with ben sims and slowly but surely umek

lol, but when u hear a 'real' techno dj out they don't play 7 minutes of a repetitive techno tune, they p-lay 3 sometimes 2 minutes of a track maybe with a loop over the top and something else below.

Techno nowadays is all about trickery. Seeing Umek live is one of the most exciting times I've had watching a dj, when I hear picotto now I just think, 'decent track, bit boring, why play so much of it....no skill'

I don't see how picotto can be the best dj, when he plays alot of the tracks techno djs play, minus the skill and minus the flow.

Just one more point. I have about 10 chris liebing sets on cdr and in all of them I can hear poor beat matching and poor use of the effects etc, So don't say you have to be better than everyone else to play techno cos' as far as i can see liebing is one of the biggest tecno djs. And by the way I still like him.

Mate you said in the other post he doesn't play real techno tracks. Mauro picotto plays a lot of melodic techno such as legowelt's disco rout wheras beyer and umek play mainly tracks with little or no melody which after 2 to 3 minutes does become boring.

As so many people say techno is a vast expanse of sounds of which beyer and picotto are at differnt ends so it would be unfair to compare them.

same with Umek, but if u think they have 1 maybe 2 mins max to cue a tune, while keeping 2 other in beat on themselves I think it can be forgiven ;)

whereas picotto has 6 mins to cue a track, and thats all hes focussed on, not playing 2 records while trying to cue another... in about 2mins.

Wait a minute!!!!!!!!!!!!

You actually like a dj that plays tracks that become boring after 2 to 3 minutes. Does anyone else find that strange. At the end of the day I go to a nightclub to hear music that I like not to pay much attention to every intricate detail of a dj.
mos man
who even said he watches every intricate detail, it just sounds good thats all

i dont think that picotto shud have got sued by armin for blue fear..... i didnt know that until i read in here, but if i wasnt told that, i wouldnt have seen a great problem with it, i probably wouldnt have noticed that they sound similar, cos it aint that obvious

some of them do, I suggest u get a clue about techno production mate.

U think umek cuts his tracks up for a laugh??

Dj's have access to a huge amount of tunes, so it seems strange to me that he is playing any tune that bores the audience.

I understand he will have certain tunes in his bag that may not be special, but it's then up to him to make something out of it. I'm not sure, but I think thats the point you are trying to make.

Anyway my point is that if I hear a stomping tune I want to hear a large part of it not just segments.

This takes me back to my point about the two differnt styles umek and picotto play.
I've never seen umek, but I gather he plays tunes that are driving the whole way thru' Looped techno. (correct me if this is wrong), Wheras mr. picotto prefers a tune that builds and builds, (frank Biazzi - turbulence), hence the reason he has to let tunes play for longer.

No offence jay, but u listen to em together, there's very little difference between the two
it's a ing joke.....
and I'm sure a few people on here have said most of Picotto's tracks are ripped off of someone elses stuff, I'm sure Verminator could fill us all in....
