ive always had a very eclectic if not random taste in music but recently, ive been obsessed w/ atmospheric tunes. be it rock, ambient, breaks, prog, or trance... :) id like some suggestion cuz it seems that recently theres been lack of quality atmoshperic tunes. i dont really care if its new songs or old as long as they are beautiful :p

i think u get the drift... it doesnt necessarily have to be trance nor breaks nor prog house.. just something thats massive and creates a mood other than the typical trancy euophoric high, if u know what i mean :conf: :conf: and please dont just list chicane, James Holden & the other usual suspects :rolleyes:... lol im familiar w/ them and they arent exactly what i have in mind :)

i like atmospheric stuff too, you sooo need to get some vangelis stuff, the bladerunner soundtrack is as atmospheric as it gets :D
i also am always on the lookout for cool jazzy crazy leftfield stuff which is awesome too, i strongly reccomend

Astral Projection - Liquid Sun (Cass & Slide Mix)<----MINDBLOWING intro.Turn this up loud,close your eyes and turn off all the lights.That's atmospheric for ya.
Nuclear Hyde - Contact<--- another one of Sasha's famous ambient openers.And mighty fine it is,too.
Robert Miles - Red Zone Pt.3<----got a massive buzz on TA after the 1 year old sticky in the unknown tracks forum was IDd as this tune.Has an awesome dark and hypnotic mood.
Juno Reactor - Nitrogen Pt.1<---- dark and spooky .A wicked cross between psychedelia and breaks,with lots of freaky sounds and some very atmospheric guitar play at the end.
JFC - Rotating Minds<---german ambient,taken from the beautiful album "Chrome De Lux" on Elektrolux Recs.All the tunes on that album are very good,but this tune is my fav.
Anything from Aphex Twin's Ambient albums<---- check out Blue Calx,pretty weird,but listening to this in headphones is a really soothing trip.
Organic Noise - The Vacuum<--- this is probably the scariest tune I've heard in my life.The intro alone is sick enough,not to metion the dark,menacing hypnogroove or the pitch black breakdown.Lemme know if ya want it,I'll hook you up;) |

i am currently hammering the new remix of York - The Awakening... the taucher mix especially.. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm floaty yet sinister :D
also have a look for aspekt - something else, anything by yunus guvenen (his new ones are wicked.. called euphrates and the other is called tigris)

not many of these are all that atmospheric imo.
Katana - Fancy Fair & 4x4 - indigo are good examples of atmospheric stuff imo.
megamind - taub 2002 is pretty atmospheric too. |
