For Hybrid Addicts (I MET HYBRID!)

this thread is really only for hybrid addicts...if yer not....then this thread is not for you. Anyway, Hybrid (5 HR SET)...i survived 3 hrs...till I injured my foot and also I have a class this morning at 9am. Mark Scaife played a banging opening set then at 1am, HYBRID shows up....so great...so much room to dance....so much room to move and not that many people. So SystemSoundbar in Toronto was ready for the breakbeat trance duo. Mike started by playing an hour then Chris took over for an hour...if you care....mike was wearing some grey shirt and chris was wearing some black button shirt. When the other was deejaying, I talked to the other one. They both happily signed my Wider Angle and Remix album CD's. Anyway, the funniest part of the night was talking to Chris because he is just so abrasive. I asked him when the album was going to come out, He said May. They are hoping for a major us label to pick it up he said. He stated that they will tour as a live act by year's end and they will start in miami and basically tour north america and europe. He said the biggest surprise about the album is that it is more polished than wide angle and that the collaboration with Kirsty Hawkshaw is more of a ballad. Then I pointed out that on tranceaddict.com, we have a hybrid alliance, he thought that was cool and told me to express his and Mike's sincere thanks for being fans of Hybrid and supporting them. Back to the review....dirty breakbeat was the choice of the night. Mike and Chris both were jumping up and down then again...they were trying to get the girl with big in the booth to jump i guess. So much fun....and I MET HYBRID....and both my cd's are happily signed. I had a great time....add comments if you wish

PVD's got bodyguards all around him, so there's no chattin' with him, but I got a MinistryBankok matchbox signed :)

Man With No Name was really cool speaking with, he was very happy that the crowd gave so much back, he said.
Oh, yeah, and when he had go to, he said: "Keep the faith" :)
Instead of goodbye or anything

Astral Projection (one of them, can't remember which one) was ... hmm, strange.. (Was he high?) :)

Most of the DJ's I have met have been class for talking to us.

Esp Hemstock + Jennings, those two guys finished their set and came down and partyed wit us while PvD played hehe.:)

That's a bit too far accross the border of Stalkersville for me :D And how could you leave a 5 hours Hybrid set with 2 hours left to go??? I'd miss a family funeral to catch that :D

DJPrototypeX: DJ's are just people :D, with the exception of a few who take themselves far too seriously and are already most of the way up their own arses (PvD, Ferry) most of the one's I've met have been sound as . Armin ignores me everytime I've tried to talk to him though, but I'm assured he's sound too so I'm guessing it's just an accident :D

Was thinking the exact same thing.

if trance music will "become" pop sometime in the next few years, you can say goodbye to these nice conversations with the dj's....

(hope that it will never happen)

I never stalked anyone....anyway...being a hybrid addict and finally getting the chance to meet them was great. Tho..none of the tracks they played...i had ever heard before...cept a few that sounded like new ones off their album.
