Philby
its 1am.
mark james and armin sets have finished on triple j. feeling a little tired and have sore muscles. should go to bed as i have work the in the arvo. what to do?? go to the city and listen to 3 or so hours of techno before steve comes on!
i decided i didn't want to stay home and seeing as i have a milf hunting and steve & dave groupie reputations to uphold i better get my arse down there!
walked in sugar suite just before 2am to the sounds of techno, which i dont really mind as long as the dj does something with it instead of just playing track after track. i mean a bit of creativity with the mixer and varied tracks i can handle, but the last dj before steve was boring as. the dj on when i got there, cameron something i think, was alright, and he certainly had a fan as a chick kept screaming out "whoooo!!" and danced away almost alone on the floor hehe. after a while there was actually quite a few people compared to the last few times ive been there which was nice.
i skipped most of serotone as i decided to get some food at stalactites to kill some time before steve was on, then had a chat with him before going back up.
robert anthony was up next i think and he was pretty good, i think it was techno, but everything was played so fast it was hard to tell, i mean some of it even sounded pyschadelic, and then he started scratching a bit with some hip hop which was unexpected but kinda cool. haha i dont think steve was too happy at that point!
then after him the boring guy came on, he was i thought, nothing spectacular so who cares about him. i came to see steve! and then he came on, and farrrrrrrrk. i seriously think that was probably the best set ive heard from him. i mean i was tired and didn't get into it as much, but i was quite content just bouncing up and down on the floor :D i thought the tracks and mixing was really good, a bit of playing with the "knobbly thing between the decks" as jolene would put it hehehe. good to see mark come after dumonde too so i wasn't too lonely! my train spotting skillz0r were a bit slow this time, it took ages for me to ID some of the tracks, if I even IDd them at all! So anyway, here is the almost complete tracklist :D

01) The Digital Blonde - Legato
02) Fusion feat. Matt Hardwick - Spectrum (Original Mix)
03) Carlo Resoort vs 4 Strings - Revelation (Original Mix) AKA "untitled"
04) Sonorous - Protonic (Ronski Speed Mix)
05) Signum? not 100% sure about this cause i didnt know it but it sounded like signum, maybe the b-side to 'First Strike'?
06) Energy 52 - Cafe del Mar (John '00' Fleming Remix)
07) Push - Strange World
08) Kansai - Roccocco (Original Mix)
09) Capetown - Pitstop
10) System F - Solstice

and then while people are leaving and security is yelling and stuff
11) Future Sound Of London - Papau New Guinea

so it was a mad set, i think mark recruited some new TAs or something? not sure. picked up steves CD which was ing awesome listening to it at work, top effort mate.

^^^ HAHAHAHAHAHAHA -- Philby got 0wned... ;)

Yeah, seriously good set Steve. I can't say any of them have been less than great, but last night's was probably the best I've heard. New tracks, classics, super-tight mixing (Strange World into Rococco: the mix was pure class) -- this one had it all. And your CD rules :D

Any chance of posting a tracklisting? There's a couple of tracks my brain is having trouble IDing. :)
