You guys missed it. I was both disapointed and pleased at the same time. Disappointed in that there were only a few TA's there. Blumune was there but I didn't know who they were. Malek, Zing and Discokandi where there. Apparently a girl called Silky (from the aria forum was there?) and of course Biggy (but no surprise there).
Blumune I was the guy with the AREA 2 shirt, Malek was the guy with a digital camera, Zing had an aria tuque on.
I was also disapointed that I was soo tired and wasn't able to enjoy them as much as I would have liked. Left Michigan yesterday morning at 8AM and finally made it in to Ottawa for 8 PM after a string of miracles/rerouts. And then bused 3.5 hrs from Ottawa to get there, yes it was that bad on the road.
I was pleased because Hybrid laid down some pretty sick tracks. Chris was into the breakbeats pretty much right away and Mike Truman started out more progressive. It became full on breakbeat with hints of Trancy melodies in between.
Highligh of the night: Seeing the owner of STEREO (yes Stereo) dancing like "crazy" (Zing & Malek know what I mean) to Hybrid at Stereo.
Another highlight is Hybrid stating that Aria's sound system ing rocked, absolutely amazing. Along with some crazy mofo at the end of the night, looked like he was in ffwd.
Anyways, despite the weather the club was about 1/2 full (confirm Biggy) but the energy level was pretty high. |

i couldn't make it because of the ty weather , i woke up at 4 , got ready then i notice half my double-window is full of snow and the other half with slosh and it was snowing like mad , and of course before going out you have to remove all the snow , then wait for the bus , so i just went back to my warm bed. |

Okay, all I can say after that absolutely incredible evening is how upset I am that a place like Aria doesn't exist in Vancouver. That place is ing amazing, the lights and sound!!!!!!! Ugh, it was like a clubbers heaven for me, and I'm pissed that I'm going back to Van tmrw where clubs are nothing near that good and close at 2 :mad:
As for Hybrid... WOW!!!! I heard 2 mixing slipups in 5 hrs, and they were each corrected in <2 seconds. EVERY mix was FLAWLESS and LOOOOOONG, that fact in itself made me incredibly happy. As for the tracks... holy . You'd expect to hear at least a few marginal tracks in a 5 hour set, but I think at worst tracks were good, and at best ing mindblowing. The crowd was SUPER into it, I saw a lot of wicked dancers, and my girlfriend and I just had a killer night overall.
A couple of tracks I recognized:
Epsilon 9 - Life Formation (Classified Project remix)
Junkie XL ft. Saffron - Beauty Never Fades (Original)
Sasha ft. Junkie XL - Breezer (Original)
Green Velvet - La La Land (Some absolutely KILLER breaks mix, ID anyone????)
I recognized like 6 others but either their name is escaping me ATM or I didn't know the track's name at the time. Either way, the breaks were so ing sick that it makes me wish I could afford to buy some breaks records too, MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM =)

(I only caught the first 25 minutes of the dude after Hybrid, his mixing was perfect, and he was playing a sort of Vancouver style techy house. Bit of a letdown after Hybrid, or maybe it was just that you can't beat that set, but we were too tired and left anyways). |

I'll be back for 2-3 weeks in May, and you can bet your ass I'll hit up Aria at least once during that time =) Stereo too, that place is also absolutely killer. Montreal RULES!
Speaking of which, any idea which top dogs'll be in the mdot in May? |

Hey, i think you're the only one i remember seeing (and i felt like a weirdo walking up asking people if they were a TA, although i highly suspected that you were). i was up at the front on the left hand side, short blue stripey tank top... too bad i didn't get to talk to any of you guys. man that was a great night though. |

| hrrmmmm it'll have to be a shakey yes for ferry, i've got some friends flying in that weekend that will take some convincing, they're straight edge and kinda reserved, but i've had alot of success with recruiting newcomers before. ;) |
