right, im wanting some Pioneer HDJ 1000's..
i emailed the dudes where i got my decks from to see if he could do me a decent price.
i got this reply
hi there Fraser,
Thank you for your E-mail.
Yes we can do the pioneer headphones for you, although I would reccomend saving your money and buying the Stanton Pro 2000 headphones. Stanton Pro 2000
We all use these cans here, most of us DJ in clubs regularly. I've had my pair for well over 2 years now. They sound amazing, aren't too heavy and look great.
They will only cost you £89, and because you have bought before, we will ship them free too. This leaves you over £40 to spend on the most important things for your club night, music!
Let me know if you wish to go ahead, call me on ***** ******.
best regards,
Christian
in my opinion i think those stanton ones look tacky... im unsure now about what to do. Anybody know if these Stanton cans are actually any good?
And also anybody know where i can get a pair of Pioneer HDJ 1000's for less than £130?
Cheers! :thepirate |

Haha, just a word of warning (that I'm sure you've noticed): the endorsement of the store employee/owner (whatever he is) could easily be the result of the guy wanting to sell off his remaining Stanton Pro 2000 stock... :disbelief
But don't write off the red card just yet, this is just a possibility. As for the Stanton vs. Pioneer dilemma, I don't know much about either of these phones, so I hope someone more knowledgeable will respond in regards to that. |

thanks for the reply mate, i didn't actually think of that as he tried to sell me these headphones when i baught all my kit but didn't have the money to buy phones aswell, so i've just been putting up with my old technics headphones until i had the money to upgrade which i know have. but that is a good point, he could be trying to shift stock hehe  |

| If you're looking to spend a little less money don't forget to check the Sennheiser HD25SP. I think they sell for about £65-£70 now, which is good value for a solid workhorse pair of cans. They used to sell for around £90 and were strong sellers in the market place a year or two ago. I really like the pair I've got - they've gigged with me in a variety of clubs, they're loud enough and I personally find them more comfortable than the high end Sony cans some of my friends have. |

well i've got a pair of HDJ-1000s and I can tell you they're great, for djing that is... Really easy to drive and they can go LOUD, making them perfect for club DJing... for studio monitoring I'd recommend V6 or 7506 Sonys...

oi now then lol, lets not go jumping to any conclusions.
i baught all my mixing gear off them last year, and i have to say, they're the best people i've ever baught anything off hardware wise. Sound as bloke, great service, great deal i got on my gear, and all came the next working day (except the decks which came straight from the manufacturer and came the day after)
now, trancegeek, where did you get your HDJ 1000's from and how much did you pay? |

Go with the Pioneers. I baught them when they first came out and I think they're awesome. All of my friends that I let try them said the same thing. I know it's not that big of a deal,,, but the Pioneer has a stereo/mono switch and the cord can be replaced easily,,, pretty sure the stanton doesn't.
I saw the Pioneers down here in Hong Kong for less than half the price I paid for them in Canada,,, which equals out to just over $200 Canadian dollars. sorry guess that doens't help much though. |

:D
but still, anybody know where i can get em cheaper than £130?? |

Here is a place that has them for $150 US.
DJ Mart
My friend ordered his cans from here. They did a great job getting them to him. Everything about the process was smooth. If you don't wanna purchase them from here then go to yahoo!Shopping and run a search for hdj 1000's. Most places have them for $160 US. If my math is correct, that's still cheaper then £130. |
