Wondering if you all thought Luis Diaz was awful too.

| I was at Roxy on Friday night for PvD and that "DJ" luis Diaz. Paul was awesome... I was wondering how you guys felt about Diaz. IMO he was awful! He had some decent beats or whatever... but that was it. He had NO buildups, and I thought he was finishing about 10 times before he actually did get the hell off. I feel like I listen to the same damn song for 3 hours. He had zero variation. I just think it was awful. Cool to dance to for like, an hour... but come on... I'm just glad that PvD was so good... Saved the night for me. |

| i honestly wasn't paying attention to the music at all on friday (with the exception of 2 tracks). but luis diaz is usually not that great. i remember him being boring wheni saw him open in november. |

I prefered luis diaz this time compared to the show back in november.
and don't forget, it's a WARMUP so he sure as hell better no tear the roof off during his time slot :haha: :haha: :haha: |

I've always loved Luiz Diaz's style, and Im talking about aside from when he opens for Paul. JDat hit it on the nose by saying he is WARMING up...and if dont like prog/tech house, you wont like his 3 hour sets before PvD....
BTW, some of the tracks be played before 12am were hand picked by me and given to Diaz on friday afternoon...which is kinda cool...

:)...dude i got some plans...i want to run it by you. i didnt see you after pvd :(
btw...i think luiz daiz sucks balls...1 of the wrost progressive djs on the planet. he trainwrecks like non other...on top of that his tracklist is WEAK...and if we were to battle against each other...i would rock that mother ******. and if i every see him in nyc...i am gonna make fun of him. I remember june 14th 2002 @ exit every break down i would hell out "YOU SUCK" and he gave me dirty look. HIM!! the only reason that ****** gets gigs...cause of chris fortier and him were boys back in early 90's in FL. LUIZ DAIZ and HIS RECORDS...
oh yeh...for those who know Luiz Daiz...tell him...he needs to go to dj school and i will be his teacher :). |

Damn Amit, you have pretty strong feelings towards the guy...I enjoyed his sets at Twilo...wish you could've seen him then....maybe now, he's changed, and perhaps because He doesnt really care what he plays before Paul:thepirate |

Even though luis is supposed to do a warm up set doesen't mean he has to play the absolute blandest tracks. First off he played the tyer side of one who got caught instead of playin the terrace mix..2nd the tracks he played were boring as a mofo, theres soo much good prog out there and he still plays the tyer boring tracks. Which makes no sense at all, he should of dropped some steve porter tracks, james holden, more filterheadz, junkie xl, like good bassline groovy with hints of melody, thats what i call a warm up set. He only played 3 good tracks before pvd which were

odd - dont look at me (paul rogers dub)
saiko-pod - groove moderator (miro remix)
other than those choons his set was just BLAND! and . i have to admit his mixing was pretty on point on friday and much better than his usual crossfade 20 second mixings. but honestly paul needs a better warmup dj, he should start looking for some1 else. my $.02 on luis diaz :D |

Anyway, I thought that Diaz sucked. I got there at 11, so I had to endure 3 hours of boring hell. Honestly, I didnt have that good off a night and its all his fault. He sapped any energy, and excitement I had for PVD. It seemed like all he did was play one loooong track. His style reminded me of Jimmy Van M, who is another DJ who likes to lull their audience to sleep rather than getting them to dance. |
