vinyl grab bags?

I wanted to buy my first vinyl (lol), something nice, so i was browsing the satellite records website and saw the grab bags promotion.

my question is, are grab bags really worth it? you get 10 vinyls for $25 + probably shipping, but do you really get any great vinyls? i wouldn't usually see like a tiesto vinyl in there, would i? do they mostly contain unknown, mostly crappy tracks on them?

so are grab bags something i should look at, or are they completely pointless for me?

i don't trust them. they're usually just filled with those tracks the store can't sell normally, so they have to hide it to make people buy it. they might be generous and throw in 1 or 2 good tracks in there for ya. :P

Well it is a great way to start your collection....

Get alot for the money and it gets you a decent variety to start...

even if they suck you can use them to get used to playing with vinyl. and if they are not good you dont have to worry about messing them up while you are learning.

May not your choice of music but to start with beat matching rubbing them feeling them

i don't see the point in buying a package that you don't know what's in there!and there's no point in buying stuff you don't like just to practice.got get vinyls you like and practice all u want :)

Dude, here ya go, this will probably best for you>> go to
PLANETXUSA--BEST ONLINE RECORD STORE
click on DJ shoppe and using filters specify which genre you are interested in and you can even get really specific by choosing sub-genre, then below select clearance items only and search, then shop till you drop. Tons of 2003-2002-2001 clearance records at minimal prices most are 1.99 and 2.74, excellent long previews of all the mixes in real player format, before you order READ FAQ section, do sign up (FREE OF CHARGE) for their club, which will simply enable you for a speedy checkout on your further orders. They are in NJ somewhere and shipping is quick and safe via UPS. My first order was 50 records totalling a mere $260.00 mostly clearance items from 2002-2003 realeases and about 18 were at regular, but still $1.00 less than local stores prices, and get this, all 50 records shipped UPS Ground to CA for under $20.00, that's .40cents per record, I've never heard of such a low shipping price before, unless it was a free shipping promotion when purchasing certain amount. I just put in my second order two days ago for 11 late 2002 and brand new 02/24/2003 releases records total w/o shipping is about 47.00 CHEAP. Good Luck.

thanks, guys.

i was passing by newbury comics (a cd store) and i went in to see what they have, and if they have anything at all. they had 'quite' a selection of vinyls - flight 643, faithless, fragma, ian van dahl, some bedrock; and, of course, i didn't forget to look at britney spears & justin timberlake vinyls :D :D :D

so i was too tempted and i got fischerspooner - emerge & lamya - empires. gonna go listen now :D :D

btw, DJ Tranz, that site looks mint. thanks for the advice
