My friend has recently been curious about trance and i would very much like him to join the scene. He has a 56k modem and doesn't have the patience to download all the anthems and new tracks, so i told him i'd make a mix to introduce him. (i have no life other than mixing). So i just compiled a bunch of tracks i'd mix for him. I can't fit all the tracks on it, so i'd like some feedback on my selection so far. :) anything to add? anything to cut?

| You may want to throw in the gabriel and dresden mix of southern sun instead of the tiesto? Also chuck in a classic or 2 like 'three drives - greece 2000' or something! |

I'll add Energy - Cafè del Mar, System F - Out of the Blue and Gouryella productions for sure and then all that tracks called anthem...
There is a reason if they are called anthem.

I'd definately put a few more anthems in there, after all, they are anthems because they are great trance. This could also give him a chance to differentiate between trance from a few years ago and trance of today... which I consider to be important.
This is just my taste talking here, I'd throw in more Ferry (my hero!), definately Gouryella. Great to see you have Souvenir De Chine in there, brilliant piece! Sky falls down (avb) is very appropriate too... and I'd stick with tiesto remix of southern sun. Commercial so they say... but undoubtedly a great track. I take it you aren't going to include much hardstyle, fair enough, but if you wanted to hint at it, stick DJ Kim - Jetlag (Alphazone Remix) in there and blow his socks off! :) |

ok i've messed around with the playlist and thanx for all ur input. I decided tho that i want the artists in my mix to appear only once. So now i'm stuck with which Second Sun/Gouryella to pick.

Use Second Sun - Empire, anyway.
But not the original mix.
Get Second Sun - Empire (Paul van Dyk's Tpod mix) instead. A much better buildup. :) |

| that's a pretty good list you've got...alot of good suggestions too. I guess my pick would be alibi - eternity...any mix but especially the original innercity...so classic...such a great anthem...:) |
