cheers

buy the 1000's, or the new denon cd deck (it think it is called ds-5000), forget about all the silverish line, go for quality, and remeber: black is the color!

the new denon deck had been getting some great reviews recently but i dont know if it is better than the 1000s! i like the look of the new denons but i think you should try and have a shot of both if its possible before you decide to buy! :D

I second getting the Denon DN5000S CD TURN TABLE in its true meaning of the name, why? well cause the plate on top actually spins just like your vinyl t-table, basically take the 12" plate of your t-table and shrink it to 7", lol! This makes so much easier to queue a CD, back queue, and scratching is hell of a lot easier. Denon also utilizes DVD ROM drive train which produces much less stress on the CD T-table and torque is much higher, plus it is built as a component, so should it break, very highly doubtfull that it ever will, all you need to do is replace the component. Here is another industry first and exclusive, if you are like me, make your own singles out of downloaded music on web and put a few tracks on each disk, with Denon DN 5000S you can play one track out to the crowd, and CUE another track from the same CD via Auxiliary function, plus with a built in HOT TRAY, meaning CD T-Table automatically stores last 35 seconds of current playing track, so with 35seconds to go you can go ahead and take it out and start cueing another CD, come to think of it, with just those two functions, you can actually get away with just one unit, lol!!! All of this plus all other bells and wissles that CDJ 800&1000 have, Denon DN5000S is cheaper. here is a link to my friends DJ Equipement store with Technical Data for U

I have the CDJ800 and i think its amazing!!

The build obviously isnt as tough as the 1000 but for home use its worth saving that £300 imo, wave display again wudda been nice but again not worth £300 more!!

The Denon one looks great too but i think The Pioneers like Technichs did with Turntables have allready taken the 'industry standard' slot in the clubs.
Rememberence_
who cares about industry standard when the denon looks so in sexy! I want 7. NOW!

Oh My friend how wrong you are, true Denon and Pioneer both make the best DJ CD players, and Denon DN 5000S is the only one in the world that can be actually called DJ CD-T-table. Take a look at this picture of My Dream DJ Booth Set UP:

all you see is 3 Denon dual CD Players Plus those are Denon T-tables on each corner, hehehe lol! Can you guess where this drool over DJ Booth Set Up is? and yes those are all RANE Mixers, and a single DJ CD Player is a CDJ1000, Denon has the Club scenes, just like technics has it for t-tables. Pioneer is used by some clubs, but not too many and usually if you see one in a club, it is 90% of the time belonging to one of the performing DJs that night.

Hey, where did you get that pic of my room? :toothless :toothless :toothless

and actually any other venue i can think of that i visit while i go clubbing here in the UK use the CDJ's. So i wuddent quite say "there not used by too many clubs" as u did. Actually i have yet so see a Denon CD Deck in a club yet, im pretty sure i'll be seeing one in the future somewhare tho.

That beauty of a DJ Booth Set Up is actually the CLUB MINISTRY OF SOUND ITSELF, something to add to Chrismas Wish List.. lol!!!

I talked to my buddy that owns an online DJ equipment store and he said that they sell much more of the New Denons N9000 and DN5000S to clubs, and to recording studios, and to producers, who he couldn't tell me 'cause of clientelle privacy and I actually didn't want to know, just wanted to find out which one is a better seller and without hesitation he said Denon and that they actually have hard time keeping DN5000S in stock, as they sell out almost as soon as they come in., I've played with CDJ 800 and I messed around with DN5000S, which I'll gladly pay additional 200.00 USD over cdj800 anyday. vs CDJ1000, tried it, didn't like it, the jog wheel just doesn't feel right when it doesn't spin, ya know.

hehe i guess we will just have to wait a couple of years to see which one does take on industry standard status i guess? I would say the pioneer is much more popular in the UK at the moment, but in saying that the Denon is a newer deck so like i said we'll have to wait and see! i have heard tho as great as the Denon is in its features it dont quite emulate vinyl as good as the CDJ's do? its like a tech and vestax innit, the vestax is on paper the better deck! but it aint like that in reality is it! Technics just 'work' with ur body!!!

Anyhow! All great CD Decks at the end of the day!

2 things tho!

1. As nice as that Booth looks are u aware that the MOS is the most pathetic thing that ever happened to the UK club scene?
everything about it sucks!

2. Its not supposed to spin! Its not a Vinyl Turntable, it has no need to spin, its fooken digital!!! :D
