hehe i know its nothing new, quite old ('97 to be exact) but i thought this album deserved some attention b/c its AMAZING! words will never be able to fully express what an impactful album this is! after loving and worshipping WOW for so long, not to mention procastinating buy their album , my CD just arrived today and its been on repeat for hours now lol :) esp Blue...!!!!:eyespop: one of the most beautiful song ever in the history of electronica imo :toothless the combination of piano / balearic vibe/breaks, its truely mesmerizing!!! all the songs on the album are quality! some that are well known i.e.: The Gift, Domination, Dance Hall Tornado, Ajare.. and others that should have gotten as much attention as the others mentioned, such as; Questions Never Answered, Earth, Sequoia.
i also love how each songs are long and since they arent mixed, u get to hear the whole song from start to finish w/o the album feeling crammed like many artist albums release nowadays. only 10 songs on the album but yet it feels like hours of breath taking utopic journey. sound obsessed? no doubt! :toothless i regret not buying this album any sooner but thankful that i was able to get my hands on it b/c the its technically out of print and out of stock in many stores.:whip:
way out west have been my favorite artists for awhile now and im sure they will continue to reign my list of favorites w/ their unique refreshening yet beautiful music :) both as a group and solo DJs, they are very genious! i cant wait to get my hands on Nick's GU024, im sure that he wont dissapoint! time after time they keep proving to me why they are the very best and this album sure takes the prize in proving once again, why im obsessed w/ them :o :p
these boys, though they have many followers in the industry and outside, they deserve way more credit for keeping the scene fresh and always innovating and just for being geniuses :disbelief
major kudos to Nick & Jody for never dissapointing their fans and teaching us to have faith in music (them in particular) even when so many artists today sell themselves short of true quality because of money and popularity! :toothless

Intensify does have a different feel from the self title but they're both still amazing.

I like both albums alot. "Self titled" has a deeper and darker feel when Intensify is more chillout oriented. I have liked WOW for years, since '96 actually.. they are just awesome! That was also about same times when i got addicted to Chicane's Offshore..

its funny though, b/c ive been a WOW fanatic for a long time now, though not quite back to '96 :p i just never got around to buying their albums due to circumstances like their cds were over priced here or what not. but recently i went to local HMV & Tower Records to buy the albums but they didnt have it. i thought they were just out of stock but asked anyways just for the hell of it and they called up the record labels and were informed that they dont manufacture the album anymore :( and they have no plans of repress. i guess its not too surprising considering WOW's days of Deconstruction is long gone since they changed labels to Distinctive Breaks. but anyways i found out, i panicked b/c i knew that if i didnt get my hands on that album, id never forgive myself for not buying it. esp b/c i feel so strongly about WOW and the least i could do as a fan is to show them support :p so as soon as i found this all out, i purchased their album and luckily, i was able to get a copy :D thank goodness i was able to b/c seriously knowing what a piece of art this album is, if i hadnt been able to get it, i woulda cried my eyes out and never forgiven myself :o
anyways, i thoroughly enjoy this album and god bless WOW for never dissapointing their fans! long live quality blissful WOW music :D
i cant wait til i get the Intensify album cuz i love Activity, Intensify, Mindcircus and, Stealth. and to know that is a mixed album, cant imagine what a surreal journey that album would invoke ;)

Thanks BLuEOcEaN420, that encourages me even more to buy the first WOW album - it was already on my general wishlist. I bought "Intensify" off eBay in January and absolutely loved it. There's a copy of "WOW" going on there at the moment, so I'll maybe bid for that one. Definitely looking forward to GU 024 as well.
