I found this article while surfin around, and thought it might be a worthy topic of discussion. The article is here:

This is actually a very interesting topic, one i have wrestled with in my own mind a few times.
Is it wrong to look at porn or not? a tough question.
I checked out the reader responses, both male and female, and they ran the gamut from the puritan amish view (from a guy no less):

Personally, i think it should be determined by INTENT, and not by CONTENT. if your intent is to simply get a little smile on your face looking at a naked picture of a girl, then it shouldn't be considered wrong. However, if you become obsessed, addicted, or more excited about the porn than you are about your girlfriend, then something is defintely wrong.
To further complicate the issue, there are of course numerous "shades of gray" in the situation. reading an erotic story is one thing, looking at a naked picture is another, video is another, and becoming a full fledged member of a porn site is another. I suppose worse would be developing an unhealthy obsession with a particular person (for example my friends affinity for jenna jamieson). And of all the things you could do, i suppose the worst of all would be to develop an online pornographic relationship with someone you actually KNOW in real life, using a webcam.
now, somewhere in these shades of gray i think lies the line where you should not cross without considering yourself a cheater. but where is that line?
I choose to stay away from it as much as possible, because my relationship with my girlfriend is the most important thing in the world to me. |

I'm not really into porn but anyone who thinks they have any business telling someone else what they ought to be looking at needs to be eviscerated for the good of humanity.

its just ing porn.
if your significant other is intimidated by the fact that the other looks at porn then they have many issues with their own self esteem, self confidence and with the relationship itself.
I found that article quite amusing and quite pathetic. |

#1 how is it the right thing to do?
#2 it s up peoples marriages and sex lives and relationships with ed up ideas how things are gonna be... most chickes DONT want 9 penises in their various orifices... porn isnt good, if you think it is...you are justifying getting off, there isnt any good too it at all. rationalize and justify it however you want lol. in great. i guess in the end its just sad. cuz the real thing isnt there you know?

it's basic instinct. depends on the person if they can handle it or not.
what i hate most about this discussion, is that religion gets dragged into it. and then the christians start forcing it onto you.

ummm, isn't bible full of sexual stuff? a bit hypocritical, isn't it?
now, who would ever look at porn when they have a gf/bf? i mean, really. if you are in a relationship and you have sex regularly, then, IMHO, there's something wrong with you if you look at porn alone (looking at pron together with yer gf/bf doesn't count).
so yes, who cares. it's just freaking porn. |
