International Montreal TA debate #2 - WHOSE the BEST PRODUCER (pg. 2)
View this Thread in Original format

good call jf, forgot about them. their commercial stuff is huge. I was just thinking more in terms of club wise, like dj/producers or music that djs (proper djs)would play, otherwise someone like MJ is the all time greatest producer.

Daft Punk have a special place in my book! I love what they do!

These guys brought electronic to the masses with their cool video clips and accessible music! You all remember that crazy clip where the main character is a dog? hehe I was hooked on it!

notable mention to fat boy slim, paul oakenfold, tiesto, pvd, ferry corsten, and oliver lieb

Heh, this is a damned tough thread.

Best newcomer IMO is Junkie XL, he's a sick sick engineer.

he's no newcomer. he's been producing for a long time. he has 3 albums out i think? it's just that he just started working with the big guys now :)

i agree with malek and biggy. daft punk does some good stuff. same with fatboy slim and even basement jaxx. :P and alec, for what i hear. BT said that oakenfold doesnt do any tunes. he has two producers who make them for him.

fat boy slim ing owns too!! Basment jaxx was ok with their first cd but went down lately...

How about Laurent Garnier, Mirwais and my man Armand Van Helden :D

Correct, but he hasn't started doing prog/trance until now (correct me if I'm wrong). I heard one of his albums in like 97/98 and it was all pretty experimental 180bpm style =)

Biggy
Daft Punk are bigger producers than any other dj's you named!

Also, they put french house on the map!

I can't name all their huge tracks because there is too many.

Aroud the world
Burnin
Da Funk

, there is so many!!!
