i think smoe of the mainstream comments are really unjust.
an artist needs to sell if hes selling really well people call him cheesy! it just keeps it underground when there trying to spread it around to mroe people and thats hell of an important thing to do
dont get me wrong i totally agree with oakeys repetitve nature and alice deejays edness but i also think some people are too quick to label something 'commercial' in a really bad way |

| true...many people say this track sucks before they even hear it and it's due to the fact it has ATB as the artist name or something. give it a listen first or look behind the song name, sometimes it might just say (so and so remix). :D but yeah...commercial sound is okay, i have no probz with it, it's just not for everyone. :) |

the thing is that a lot of 'commercial' tunes sound more like pop tunes, or tunes designed for the elderly.
not to slag them off or anything, but sometimes the production just hsa that sound which would remove them from the 'trance' genre and put it elsewhere.. i think thats wut bugs ppl |

There is a lot to say about cemercial music/trance, but one of the most discusting things is when the big labels just make the music cause they have noticed that it sells , and so they starts to produce it just to make some more money, itīs then it gets really cheesy. Like a year ago latin music got pretty popular and in a few weeks there were so many latin tracks produced and performed by the "big artists".
I donīt think trance should be something you sell to someones soul cause then they would get the wrong picture, there are already cemercial compilations and when you listen to them itīs like one or two tracks that are really good. Trance is not big here in Sweden but itīs getting a bit bigger with these cmersial , so maybe it could have a good influence on the scen here, maybe they will learn.

as for oakey, from all the bitchfest threads about him, it seems to me he is just trying to appeal to the more mainstream audience. i'd rather not spark arguement about that tho.
like infinity said, some music just sounds commercial by nature. :\ |
