How Many Records Does A Trance Artist Sell Anyway....

I was just curious if any body knows the sales figures from certain dj's on their record sales.I was reading in another thread how most beginners are lucky to sell 1500 copies.If thats true what kind of numbers would a big name like PVD Tiesto,Armin or Ferry put up?And since apearently because the real money is in the compilations that get put out,what kind of numbers do those sell?If anybody has any knowledge on this subject i would appriciate the feedback thanks!!

just remember that they release stuff in multiple countries...
I was thinking about this the other day. ATB's 9pm til i come sold like 1 million copys worldwide! They don't get that much out of single sales. e.g. if a single costs like $3 They would only get something like 50-75 cents out of it. Artissts rely on worldwide sales for cash! ATB got £600,000 (approx 1million dollars) out of 9pm til i come. :eek:
gig prices vary, there are numerous threads out there about prices, and prices at certain times (like NYE). |
