well, i had it in my backpack for a few days, thinkin it would be allright...makin sure not to subject my pack to any trauma. (and note that i've had several other sony products that have withstood "life" in my backpacks front pocket)
neway, i pulled it out today...and it is broken. The screen has cracked in one part, and all the black inky stuff is leakin inside the screen. and on the front there is a dent/ding on the outer casing.
waaaaahhhhhhh! :( :(
ok enough whining...it is still under the 90 day factory warranty. help me think of a way to make sony replace it! (and please no negative remarks about the situation....you would do the same too) |

If it's still under the 90 day warranty, just get in contact with Sony Customer Services. seeing as you are still guranteed, they are obliged to replace it by contract.
My microsoft mouse broke around one and a half years after I bought it, returned it, and got an exchange brand new, after contacting them. Some of these companies aren't half as bad as they'd make you think ;)

Sorry to hear about your MD. But since your still under warranty you should be fine. Just call Sony Customer Service as soon as you can, and you will have a new one in about 2-4 weeks :)
MiniDisc's are one of the greatest portable audio inventions ever. Slim, sexy and sound oh sooo good. Im a n10 owner myself. Beats any cd/mp3 player i ever had. |

| im willing to bet sony will not replace it. warranty usually only covers defects from sony. not you being careless and leaving it in your backpack to get broken. if you have nice things keep em that way. |

| My experiences with MDs and MP3 players wern't good at all, that's I id rather use a cd player, well, a GOOD cd player! preferably an mp3 cd player and just load up your tunes! |

| Hah owned. :/ Chances are, Sony wont replace it because as mentioned in one post, warrantys usually only cover defects in the hardware from them, and not made by you. But I hear ya. I broke my cd player (portable) before. The top came off and wires got pulled out. It's easy as hell to repair, but I'm guessing my friend stole it because I cant find it anywhere. Last time I was at his house I found a ton of my mp3 cds, so I'll be kicking his ass if I find my cd player over there. :P |

my MD kept on breaking, and the 2 year warantee (i took a year extra) was about to run out. as i didnt trust the unit anymore (it did do some weird things), i blasted it with gamma rays completely destroying it beyond repair. this is completely undetectable.. well unless they open it up, take the chips of the board, open them up and examine them.. i doubt that is the shops policy.
becos it has broken so many times in the past, they have now offered me a new one. i can go to the shop next week and choose a brand new one, with a full year garantee.
hehehehehe :D:D |
