Im curious to find out what trance means to everyone here, memories, friends, experiences etc.
What got you hooked? what keeps you going? And finally if you could use one word to describe trance what would it be?

what got me hook to trance was from the first group antiloop even though they're like technoish? from then on I became a trance addict. I thought it was the only uncorrupted music and expressed me quite well since i'm quite quiet. Hmm... I would use three words to describe trance? modern day symphony :tongue2

To tell you the truth
Darude got me hooked
I heard Sandstorm and had to hear more
So I started to check out some more tunes of the electronica genre
I knew I was hooked when I heard Picotto's Komodo!!
A year later I joined TA and that was when I knew this was just more than a phase :p
I guess it was hard just to discover trance, because trance addicts are such a minority where I live
what keeps me going are great new tunes like

For me, Trance is pure. The melodies, the synths, the beats are always there and it never lets me down. There's no complications, just music. For all the complicated things that happen to a person in this world, there's always Trance that brings me back to the basics. I block everything out and let the music take me on journey, although only for a short time, it builds up anticipation for the next time I take a journey. Trance music is part of my daily habits now, it gives me a jump start to the day so that I can conquer whatever lies ahead. It flows through me, soothes me and never gives up on me. It's like another shadow. It's always there no matter what happens.
For the unfortunate rumours/events that have been coming up such as Airwave quitting and a ASOT ending, it was these artists and these programs that made Trance such a part of my life and the reason why I drew up such conclusions as to what Trance means to me. I hope all artists continue strong because it has a huge community backing them and enjoying every song that comes out.

| trance is what gets me going in the morning. it lifts me up when im feeling down, it is the soundtrack to my life since i listen to it pretty much nonstop. trance is my only escape from this ty world and my problems. trance is so much more than just beats and i hate it when people rip on trance music even though they havent listened to it, they dont know true trance with emotion and feeling. i just laugh to myself when theyre like "ooh its just a bunch of noises without words"... morons:rolleyes: |

| I find trance calms me when im upset...brings back memories, possibly old girlfiends and so on.... the tune that got me hooked would have to be Robert miles-children.....so pure and just simple trance. Plus the fact that it is a minority it kinda pumps me up to think that we are diffrent and have found something that allot of people will never experience.....Peace and luv goin out to all TA's... |

I started off listening to eurodance back in '92. This genre was popular on the radio, and my older sister always was listening to it, and so I gained an appreciation for it too.
I then got into some more techno-ish sounds, with Daft Punk in '96 and Josh Wink. I also liked artists such as Brooklyn Bounce at that time.
The internet came around, and I kind of randomly found some trance tracks, and I was hooked. The one song that had the biggest impact on me was Talla 2XLC - Wolrd in My Eyes (1AM mix). Classic.
The reason why I like trance is because of the wide variety of emotions it captures. And it has a sound that is unparalleled. |

asot = a state of trance, armins weekly radio show. at least i think its weekly.
I got into trance through antiloop and mars and mystre back in around 98 id say, but the first summer i realized i was into it neck deep was 2000, the best year for trance I think.
What word(s) describe trance for me now???
