Hey guys,
Obviously, I'm new to the site, and I'm a bit new to this type of music. About 2 years back i started listening to techno music (Crystal Method, Junkie XL) and then like last year i started to get into club type stuff, or what i thought was club. Recently some dude on Napster that i got help from trying to figure out what i liked, told me i like Progressive Trance and House. I'm still pretty much in the dark about artists and what not, all that I know for sure is that I like stuff thats similar to Darude's Sandstorm. Anyone got any songs or artists that have that type of sound? Thanks a bunch guys.

OK, start with the basics... here are the names of some trance gods... almost anything made by these guys is quality:

Armin Van Buuren
Ferry Corsten
Paul Van Dyk

and most ppl here are into the harder style of trance
Darude - sandstorm most ppl here will think it's cheese
cheese = commercial overplayed Trance
personally i dont mind that track
you should look out for a synergy mix of darude's sandstorm
called
Darude Vs One Phat Deeva - in and out of the sandstorm
thats a great combo of 2 tracks and is the best "mix" of sandstorm
hmmm my advice to u is to scour these forums, there has been loads of threads similar to yours in the search for new trance
this is a great place for getting ideas on new tracks and from where to get them as napster is dieing a slow painful death :(
My recomendations are
Origin - refined Intricacy '99 any mix of that is great and is trance at its purest
Delerium - Silence - Airscape and DJ Tiesto remixes
Delerium - Innocente - DJ Tiesto and Mr Sam's The Space between us Mix
DJ Tiesto - Flight 643
DJ Tiesto - Urban Train
The Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia
all fairly old tracks now but a great introduction to Trance at its best :)

Hey...welcome aboard...so u want to get more tunes...my advice and what I did when I first became a TA is just search for live mixes, download them and go from there. If u hear a song you particularily like, just do a search for the tracklist for that particular mix and your off...you could also just do a process of elimination...just do a search on 'trance', download whatever is there and listen and discard the ty ones.

thanks for the feedback guys. I've been trying to download this stuff off napster but can't find . I got some stuff by Armin, PVD, Tiesto, and Tony Draper. That same dude on napster who was helpin me out was tellin me that Draper has this song, I can't remember the name, something with the word "children" in it. He said it was pretty popular. Anyways, i did a search on it and couldn't find it, would anyone mind uploadin it here so i could get it? Again, thanks a buttload, I'm already addicted to the site, i've been here for 4 hours at least. Oh, and let me just apologize right now, I'm gonna be moochin songs and info off of you guys for a bit at first, so yeah, sorry about that ;) .

| most of the guys here have good suggestions about good tunes. some you may like and some you may not. download and see. thats why they have delete. i get most of my good tunes just from lookin around here and seein what ppl reccomend |

there are other, better file sharing programs that u can use...
winmx
audiogalaxy
audiognome
imesh
and lots of others....i think in the chill out forum there is a thread, the first one, that talks about all the different file sharing programs...check that out. |
