OK Eugene, hard trance is my favorite type of music so I will post my opinions of the track.

First off this sounds a lot like DJ Luca Antonilini - Heat. Did you model your melody from it?

Secondly, it is too simple. When I say this, I mean the song doesn't have much depth to it. I understand how you say hard trance doesnt really have all the effects and stuff that the other genre's do, but a hard trance track still accomplishs that full bodied complete sound. Your track doesn't. I suggest you add some reverb and maybe a bit of distortion. You gotta do something, right now it just sounds a bit too amaturish.

On the plus side, I think the overall structure of the song is good. I also think that the high pitched melody will be probally be fine once you fill out the song more, but you might want to try it out with it a pitch lower.

Keep it up man, you are doing good. L8r.

Thanks a lot guys, you're right, I need to do something about this track, but I don't know what :(

(and by the way, the lead synth already has some reverb)

Maybe you could point me to some phat, hard-trance samples for kick, bass, synth, etc.? I've been looking on the Web and can't find anything real hard and cool in terms of drum/basslines, and especially the Snare.

BTW, check out the following page with downloadable DrumKit samples:
S I T E
Which sample(s) would you recommend for my track, and why?
(I downloaded "BT0A0A7.mp3 - TR 909 kick drum", it sounds pretty cool, I'll see how it fits into the song; any suggestions?)

I do NOT want to use handclaps for the 'complementing' snare, so I'm looking for some hard, wet sound with impact, that you'd frequently hear in Hardstyle music.

And by the way, "hey cheggy", the 909 drumkits don't sound that different.

Also, do you think this sawtooth-bass is better:
SAMPLE

I think it has more punch than the old one.
I made it using Iblit (freeware synth VST), the previous [current] one was made with AskaSwitch.

any advice or comments appreciated

Forgot to comment on the crash cymbal you use (think you have used it in past tracks also), it sounds really bad. Maybe try tweaking it.
Eugene
Do you think the following drumline is good for my track? hard enough, and elegant?

DRUMLINE SAMPLE

thanks

I think the bass is a bit weak, although I only listened to it in my headphones.

UPDATE: I have been working on the track this week and followed many of your suggestions. I've changed the drums, bass, added synth reverb, played some more with effects and the structure, and here's where I've gotten so far.

pushing_tempo_2.mp3

Tell me if I'm headed in the right direction with this, whether something needs to be changed and if so what. Thanks

I miss a bassline in your track. or at least the bass in it.

Furthermore I don't really like the kick, but that's taste

Maybe you can put some more reverb on the snares

1st of all the sounds are too sharp and literally killing my ears ;) cut them down or something.

To be honest, don't like any of this track and I don't know how you can dance with this track either, way to slow and no energy in it.

Sorry ;)

you mean the old (original) version or the updated one?

I thought the updated version had a lot more energy in it :conf:

ok, the new track is much much better

* I don't like the beginning at all, I think it's way too simple and not interesting at all

* I think vocals are horrible too

* still think that the tracl is too simple, you need more structure/more sounds
Eugene
thanks for the feedback
