I'm off to Miami shortly for a brutal week of suntanning, DJ interviews, clubbing for days without sleep, eating the best pizza on earth (Pizza Rustica), reuniting w/TA's from all over, taking stiff drinks 'to go' from bars, ogling over Art Deco architecture, cruising into parties on guest lists left & right (why did I even bother with the Space 3-day pass?), networking, wheeling and dealing. Highlight of my trip will be reuniting w/my dear friend Joy Kitikonti, finally for something longer than a 6-hr window of time. I'll be sure to bring back as many incriminating photos of whatever I can witness for you all.
Have fun in the snow, taking your exams, doing your jobs, or whatever else u may be doing this week. (I'm evil, I know....)
It's 3:30am, and I haven't started to pack. :nervous: :nervous::nervous: :nervous:

Having a blast in Miami. Hanging with j_spot every day. I think I've had about 9 hrs sleep all week (more than I expected), & have taken about 300 pics so far. Clubs are so picky about allowing in cameras or camcorders its annoying. Space club staff can kiss my ass got thrown out this morning, but talked my way back in with a more sympathetic bouncer) :whip:
Weather is really hot & humid. Was awesome to see Joy again and hang out for a few days. Met tons of big whigs. Very cool....Been to Mauro's Meganite party, Tortured in BED techno party, Tenaglia's marathon set, various pool parties, Radio 1 broadcast (which wasn't actually broadcast due to a 'war'- BBC is lame). Not enuf time to get the suntanning time I want still.
Best party this week was last nite - Dance Valley. can we say Dutch invasion???? OMG I DIE!!! Met all the trance greats I hadn't met or seen b4- all super nice. Got great pics w/tons of amazing talent. Even Tiesto was hanging out there. Special shout outs to Dan Diablo, Montana, Fausto & Cor Fijnman for rocking my world- people I've been dying to see. (Itikia- we MUST book them in TO IMMEDIATELY!!!). OMG is Misjah Helsoot hot!!! Saw Marco V, Roog, Johan, Sister Bliss as well. THE DUTCH RULE!!!!! Danced so ing hard, I gave myself a recurring case of arthritis in my left ankle (got temporary arthritis in both ankles after last yrs WMC). Despite being in major pain, I stil went to Space for Sasha & Digweed & Sander for another 2.5 hrs. Thought I'd have to amputate my ankle when I went to sleep this morning, but miraculously, the pain went away within the 3 hrs of sleep i had. (someone up there loves me....)
Also yesterday, saw Scumfrog- another highlight. Got hooked up w/a free copy of his new double cd, a t-shirt, and some vinyls of his new release (which kicks ass of course) cuz i'm such a good fan.
Just got back from the TA dinner at T.G.I Fridays. Nice time.
well, it looks like j_spot has fallen asleep here in the internet cafe, and we need to go get ready for PVD.... so..... more updates later.

Tara- I ran into Erica early on at Space (don't ask me what morning it was- it's all a blur now).
Went to Ultrafest yesterday- another logistical nightmare this year getting in. No bags at all were allowed in, and the people at the gate only checked in about 30 bags. Everyone else had to hang their bags up on the fence and pray they were there when they returned. I knew camcorders were not allowed, but I risked taking mine anyways, and at the gate, they tell us cameras weren't allowed either. U can imagine the panic & frustration... These rules were imposed by Miami police, who wanted to cancel the event to begin with. Luckily, I decided to check the media entrance to see if comped ticket was waiting for me, and there was! So, after an hour of figuring out what to do, I was finally inside, bags, cameras, and all. Apparently, the press pass wasn't included, but by some luck, I knew the guy working the desk there, and he gave me the pass anyways. I had backstage access, and was able to go on stage to take photos. There was open bar and dinner served to us as well. (John this is for you-) Ran into Max Graham backstage, and we chatted it up. Bitched him out for not making it to the happy hour he had planned with his msg board members the day b4 (he partied too hard w/Deep Dish the nite b4). Got to hear Christopher Lawrence (from outside during the panic to get in), and saw Junky XL, The Streets, Underworld, Pete Tong, Mauro, Tiesto, Dave Seaman, Hernan Cattaneo, Liquid Todd, Sasha & Digweed, Rabbit in the Moon, Josh Wink, DJ Dan, Kevens, Ed Rush & Optical, K-Swing, and Roland.
My good luck ran out around midnite. Ankles crapped out from the vigorous workout they were getting. Made it to the tent where I was to meet my friends after the event, had someone get me the paramedics, and they had to drive me out of there on a mini-firetruck. The porter at my hotel wheeled me up to my room on a LUGGAGE cart of all things!!! I have pics to prove it all too. Been in bed all day, finally got the hotel to loan me a wheel chair, and j_spot has been pushing me around all nite. What a guy...
Gonna attempt to hit a closing party that's wheelchair accessible. ;)
