| I was looking on the Sennheiser website n saw that they sell refurbished(repaired) headphones on thier website for a discount price. I was wondering if anyone has bought these refurbished products. If they're still in good quality I imagine the savings would be well worth it. |

Dude, you're flamin yourself with comments like that. Studio Monitors, not dj headphones my ass. Don't knock the 25's if you don't know anything about them.
Picking headphones is a personal thing and for home use, it doesn't really matter that much once you hit a certain price, they're all good. All I have to say is don't buy the Sony 700s. I've seen too many people and read too many posts of people winging about their cans breaking. They might look cool but if you wanna be dishing out that kinda cash every time you drop them, or every time they fall of the table, that's your choice. |

Well I got them before I went to China... so it would have been somtime in late November or early Decemeber/02. It's too bad because I really liked these cans :( |

Djtranz: first of all the Sennheiser HD25 is NOT intended for studiomonitoring in first place...they are strictly made for DJ'ing
Second I saw that you marked the Pioneers frequency in blue to maybe show that it was better and so on but the fact remains...you still won't hear lower frequencies or higher frequencies than the Sennheisers can deliver so why bother :)
and last the price on the sennheisers is so high compared to the others phones because you can replace exactly every part on them yourself....the cups...the cords...the main thing that holds it on your head (cant come up with the name :p) without replacing the whole thing....it's expensive to buy but it's a LOT cheaper if something breaks on them so if someone know that their headphones will get lot's of beating the sennheisers is really a better choice...
ohh and another thing...the sennheiser HD25 isolates sound good as hell...I can't eaven hear my keyboards clicksound when I type...and my keyboard is pretty loud :)
so don't try to bash the HD25 because they are one of the best headphones on the market (not saying that the new Pioneers are bad though) |

You *DO* realize that, without any range given by how high or how low it is at any given frequency, that frequency response is complete and utter bull?
Like, if it had said 5 hz - 30 khz (+/- 3dB) THEN I would be like, HOLY ! But if it is 15 dB down from a 1 khz tone played at 90 dB, why bother? The measurement doesnt mean anything. Also, we can only hear from 20 hz to 20 khz. Hell, I'm 19 and my ears go out at about 17 khz. And that is the frequency at which vinyl cops out too, I believe... |

that's what I was trying to poit at...those mad frequencyranges are just a way to make people think "OMG...those must be the best"
I hate that they do this with all the headphones today :/ |

| I also agree with the fact that so many makers have exaggerated the frequency-response figures on headphones. Some makers (e.g. higher-end Sennheisers, Grados) are much closer to their frequency-response claims than others (e.g. Panasonic, Pioneer, Sony). After all, what good is a 5 to 30,000 Hz frequency response claim if those DJ headphones really reproduce only 25 to 13,000 Hz? |
