I havnt got time to read all of them, but why do you think a few of the countires leaders are so keen on removing sadam and destroying these weapons, he used them on his own people once...
DrUg_Tit0
Those weapons are now more than 12 years old, and are mostly either destroyed by UN inspectors or unusable because of old age.

the CIA know this, because they sold it to them.
It's now unusable, and the UN inspectors were disposing of it...

CHEMICAL WEAPON FACTFILE

Iraq has signed up to the Geneva Protocol which bans the use of biological and chemical weapons but this has not stopped Saddam's regime using them on his enemies and his own people.

At least 5,000 Iraqis were killed in one hour in Halabja in 1988 and the UN has documented Iraq's use of chemical weapons in its war with Iran.

Chemical and biological weapons can kill but leave buildings or other targets intact.

In unsophisticated forms, chemical weapons have been in existence for nearly a century. Simple gasses such as chlorine and mustard gas were used extensively in the First World War.

Among the most dangerous chemical weapons are the so-called nerve agents. These affect the transmission of nerve impulses.

They are stable, easily dispersed, highly toxic and have rapid effects when breathed in or absorbed through the skin.

Nerve agents can be manufactured fairly simply. The raw materials are inexpensive and generally readily available. They can be made by anyone with a decent laboratory and a dubious intent.

Iraq has admitted manufacturing mustard gas, VX, Sarin and Tabun before the 1991 Gulf War. Although much of it was destroyed, Britain believes 360 tonnes of chemical warfare agent remain unaccounted for.

VX
VX is one of the most dangerous nerve agents ever created - and it was developed in Britain. A fraction of a drop of this odourless liquid will kill. The gaseous form acts almost immediately, causing chest tightness and respiratory failure.

Death is certain unless the victim has an immediate antidote of atropine injected into the heart.

MUSTARD GAS
Mustard gas has nothing to do with mustard, but in some forms it is yellowish and smells like horseradish or garlic. A mustard gas victim will not notice the symptoms of burning eyes, blisters and burning throat until its too late because it can be several hours before the effects are felt.

Death is ulikely, but the victim would be in agony. Their lungs and other organs would be damaged and they would also be susceptible to cancer.

SARIN
Sarin is a colourless and odourless gas. It has a lethal dose of 0.5 milligrams for an adult and is 26 times more deadly than cyanide gas. Sarin attacks the nervous system when inhaled or absorbed through the skin.

Death is certain in around 10 minutes.

TABUN
Tabun has similar effects to Sarin and VX.

Death is very quick - probably in less than two minutes.

Experts say Saddam used a combination of chemical agents including mustard gas, Sarin and possibly VX in an attack against the Kurds.

The attack at Halabja in northen Iraq in 1988 killed 5,000 people and left 65,000 others with severe skin and respiratory diseases.
