well i was in a party on sunday.. and i saw the dj splash some water on the vinyl, and not by mistake, he did it twice.. why do djz do that?
is that appropriate?, what is it for?, i think he said to the other dj something about pumping up the sound or somethin...??

J.. He's just a dumbass ...

The mofo didnt put ligaya !! .. He must die :disbelief
big dave
i think it would be more of a hinderance than anything! unless he was trying to clean it from static? :conf:
DJ-Kuza
It helps reduce poping
YuVaL
but there was no poping (and no ligaya also.. :()

coby.. next time we shot the ******
;)
g-money
I think its more for cleaning.
P`zazz
hmm, but does it work??

if it does then I can see from now all my 12" splashed in H20, damn static :whip:
DJ Kibon
...I know what you mean.

I have all sorts of static problems with my vinyl, which varies from record to record, attracting tons of dust.
DJ Tom
Anybody know if this is correct? why would you not just use an anti-static dust wipe? Computer stores usually carry them!
DJ Charlie
splashing your records will destroy the label on them

sektile
its used for cleaning, sometimes with soap its quite good.

the only problem with anti-static dust wipes are your "pushing" the collection of around the vinyl, and sometimes that isnt really helping

Maybe he wanted to create a waterfall effect with his music.. LMFAO who knows.. maybe for cleaning.. or give the sound that underwater talk effect?

he wasn't spinning it live as he splashed water on it did he?

Or maybe he was so hyped up that he was sweating all over the place ans sweat landed on the vinyl, therefore he had to clean it since sweat has chemicals that may ruin vinyl? anyone doing bio-chemistry @ college?? LOL

Really who the beep knows.. u should have just asked him...
