Ministry of Sound moves from clubbing to Java Games
THQ Wireless has signed an agreement with Ministry of Sound to develop a range of Ministry of Sound branded games for mobile phones. The first game, which is rhythm-based dance with officially licensed Ministry of Sound music, will be available shortly from network operator download services and from the Ministry of Sound web site, via text-message requests. The goal of the new game is to tap the buttons in time with the music, testing the player's technique, reaction time, rhythm and speed. The button tapping is represented on the mobile phone screen by a dancer.
Ministry of Sound is now one of the world's largest independent record labels and a powerful dance music brand, operating the UK's most famous club.
CM Harper, Commercial Director at London-based Ministry of Sound said: "We selected THQ Wireless as our partner for this exciting new venture because of their experience and expertise in the mobile games market. We believe that Ministry of Sound's brand will work well on mobile phones and prove to be very popular with our audiences."

the Motorola C333 has polyphonic ringtones and it one of the more "popular" phones right now offered through Rogers GSM. And the SE T600 also has polyphonic phones too. One of the reasons why SMS hasn't really caught on here is the cost for sending messages and the late coming of intercarrier messaging. Many other countries only charge no more than 5 cents per message whereas here it's 10 cents. |
